Looking back towards Vegas Photo submitted by Akpsy1 on 10/10/2012
Great layout
Very fun course to play but not for the beginner player
Too many blind shots, grass on fairways and greens in poor condition
Greens and fairways in poor condition. Need some visual of course layout as many shots were hit blind.
Beautiful desert course w nice green fairways. Great vistas.
Four of us average golfers (handicaps 17-24) thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful course and the cute bunnies and chipmunks and played a scramble (2 vs 2) within 4 hrs. Would chose Badlands again when visiting Vegas.
Bad land for a golf course
if you like looking for you ball in the desert and rocks this is the course for you. even shot that looked good would run of the green grass in the the rocks. the edges of the target grass patches are usually slopped in to the bad lands so that a marginal shot will kick in to the crud.

Course was challenging with premium placed on fairway position and approach. Driver not necessary on some holes. Greens fast, but consistent, and a bit tricky. First time playing the course; definitely not my last. Best value I've found in the Las Vegas area. All personnel were helpful and friendly. Food was great. Couldn't ask for more.
January golf
Course was in good condition. Greens were fast. A challenging course for the shorter yardage. Good value for the money. Would play again. Great January golf.
challenging on the first time
Excellent greens and fairways were very nice. Pace of play was very fast and I was able to tee off right away. A course fly over or updated gps would help when a bunker, water or valley is coming up off the tee box. I will go back now that I have a better idea of what hazards come into play. If it's your first time I would recommend going with someone who has played before so they can help.
Fun desert course
Keep the ball out of the desert and you will have a great time. First time I have rented clubs where they give you an extra club to use out of the rocks. Fun round, beautiful area in Summerlin, great staff.
If u are disable do not play here
It is extremely hard to get up and down from tee's and no way u could walk because of the steep cart paths. You need to be in real Good shape. I would not look for golf balls and unless u hit the ball straight every time u will need lots of golf balls. Some holes u can only hit the ball so far or u will be in deep trouble
Tricked up Design
I Know that Johnny Miller and Chi Chi Rodriques designed this course but I am afraid it was not one of their better efforts, too many "gimmicky holes" !!!
Great day on the course
Winter cut fairways were in very good shape. Course pace was slow with lots of twosomes. The pair behind us quit on the 16th and went in. We waited most of the day, but still finished the round in 3.5 hours. Outlaw was closed so that may have helped speeded things up if Outlaw had been open at the time.
Course is goin downhill
Badlands is no longer a course I will look to play in the future. The practice facility is no longer part of your round. There are mats to hit off that are all bumpy and uneven. The course was in ok shape but nothing compared to TPC and Bears Best that I played the last couple weeks. If you get the round at low price play otherwise pass and play something else.
very good for beginner
very good place and enough to beginner.
very good weather.
not difficult course for beginner.
Distance control is a must
The last four holes were not long but required precise distance control to avoid hazards.
Love Badlands
Great course, great price, and in fabulous conditions. I highly recommend Badlands when you are in Las Vegas.
must play!
My new favorite course in Las Vegas. Fun layout, with some forced carries over arroyos. Picturesque views.
badlands
Have played there before-
interesting layout made it challenging and fun to play
Great Course
The Outlaw 9 was fun and challenging with great terrain. The Desperado 9 was wider with some forgiveness.
If you're going to be open on a holiday be OPEN!!!!!!!
Our group played this course on Thanksgiving morning, that being said, I have to say that the management in the pro shop were openly very rude to quite a few people that wanted to play their course that morning. We had arrived an hour early for our 9:45 tee time, wanting to hit some balls to warm up. We were told that the range was already closed so their people could go home early. If we had an hour to wait what were we all supposed to do???? If you are going to sell tee times on a holiday, you should be open to service your customers!!!! They told us that the last tee time would be 10:45 that day, which shouldn’t have affected us at all. The staff that helped us load the karts were very courteous and seemed happy we were there. When we checked in with the starter he asked if we were all there and ready to play and put us out at 9:15 but was pretty surly about being there. He put us out 30 minutes early and there was no one in front of us that we ever saw. A marshal then approached us on the second hole to speed up, as if we were holding other groups up! Not our fault there was a gap in putting groups out, we politely as possible told him to pound sand!
The course is made up of 3, 9 hole courses, we played Outlaw and Diablo, the easier of the three. Once out on the course it was really nice and the scenery was very picturesque. When we made the turn the club house was CLOSED and there were no services available at all, but there was still staff on site, very poor customer service there guys!!!! There was a beverage kart running and we saw here a couple of times throughout the day. We had never played this course before, but the karts had a GPS, but really left a lot of details out that would have been really nice to know BEFORE you made a drive! Like having a split fairway, or even how far the carry needed to be to get to the fairway! We finished the course in 4 hours as expected with only a few people still there to collect the last few karts.
Over all a very nice day of golf on a really nice course, despite the rudeness of some of the staff. We would definitely play this course again.
Great place to play
I had an awesome time. I played with a couple younger guys who played the black tees. It was a good thing I played the white ones as there is something to say about playing tees that match your game. I shot a few under my handicap with a couple birdies helping my score from the bad holes I had..
