Looking back towards Vegas Photo submitted by Akpsy1 on 10/10/2012
Great course, great staff.
Immaculate conditions, had 1 not perfect lie in 18 holes. Outside service staff was excellent and friendly. Beautiful July afternoon in Vegas, temp did not reach 100, no wind.
This course is very playable if you are hitting good shots, accuracy is much more important than length. Didn't seem as hard as the slope rating would indicate, although I can see where it might eat your lunch on a windy day. Greens were excellent, a little on the slow side, higher than normal cut on the bentgrass for summer I'm guessing. Firm but will hold a shot.
Highly recommended, tremendous value with the summer discounts. A few jaw droppingly gorgeous holes.
Great lay out.
The staff was friendly. The course was in great shape. Will definitely return again.
Fun course
Elevation changes. Blind shots. Nice course from the tips. Played all 27 holes as a single in 4 hrs. Great day of golf.
staff wasnt friendly at all!
Way to much money to rent golf clubs and the staff wasn't friendly at all.
Lost Balls
First time playing the course, if you miss the fairway there goes your ball you have to make good shots or your in trouble. Had a good time playing.
Excellent Condition
Course is an amazing shape. Not one dry/brown spot on the entire course and the greens were rolling perfectly. Took advantage of a low price, and got incredible value for my money. Likely wont be back unless i can get a similar price.
Played desperado/diablo combo and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of desperado. Nearly every tee shot has to be perfect on desperado or its a lost ball.
Golf cart GPS provides very accurate and vital info.
Goodlands
Enjoyed a round of golf at the Badlands in the heat of the summer. The course was in good condition and like the reviews mentioned it is recommended that you have the ability to hit the ball fairly straight and to specific yardages at times. I played in a threesome with two individuals who play the golf course fairly often and there were only a few instances where a ball was lost amongst the group. Some of the holes were truly beautiful and I look forward to returning in the future.
JB
Very challenging course. Greens in great shape. They had a tournament which slowed down play a bit. Food on cart was limited but clubhouse had a great selection. Check in staff at curb was great, put fresh ice and free bottles of water in my cart. Check in staff at desk were friendly, starter was very accommodating. Overall a great experience. Will be back frequently!
Day 2: Outlaw/Diablo
I played Badlands on Saturday, July 26, 2014 and Sunday, July 27, 2014. Both days I teed off at approximately 9 am and I played the Outlaw 9 first, followed by the Diablo 9. Both days I booked a pre-paid "Hot-Deal" for $35 plus tax through GolfNow, three days before playing. Note: Weekday pre-paid "Hot-Deals" are available through GolfNow at just $18 plus tax per round and weekend "Hot-Deals" rates are $35 plus tax. The rate includes GPS equipped golf cart, but not the range ($4 for a bucket of 30 balls). As a non-resident of Clark County, it is always difficult to find golf in the Vegas area at a decent rate. This Golf-Now "Hot-Deal" is the real deal!
Considering the time of year and the 105 degree weather (95 degrees at 9 am), the course is in very good shape. Fairways are green and lush, and the greens very receptive. My only complaint is all the jerks that fail to fix their ball marks on the soft greens, meaning I was fixing 4 to 6 on just about every green. Nevertheless, while not PGA Tour speed, the greens were relatively smooth, straightforward to read, and of moderate speed. Must cost Badlands a mint to put as much water as they do on this desert target style golf course.
The nine's themselves are classic desert target golf. Hit the ball to the target area, get rewarded. Mess up, and you pay the price. I found Outlaw to be easier to score on than Diablo. Couple of goofy holes (including par 5's where one has to hit a long iron or hybrid off the tee due to fairways ending at the 220 to 240 yard range), but the desert area is all played under a local rule where all balls into the desert are played at point of entry to the desert area, one stroke penalty.
For visitors to the Las Vegas area, I highly recommend playing Badlands on a Golf-Now "Hot-Deal" rate.

On the decline
First impression of the facilities a few years ago was Wow and now not so much. Seems like they are cutting a few corners and it is showing. Restaurant and beverage cart services seems to be the ones mostly affected. The course (Outlaw & Desperado) was in good condition. The greens were slow though which made it difficult for scoring. Pace of play was slow. Could not get any rhythm going with having to stop and wait for every shot. To be fair though it is the weekend and so the course had quite of few people playing. Will probably try and play it again but if no improvement then won't be back.
Always In Great Shape
This course is stunning! It's a must play for any one visiting (or even living in) the Las Vegas Area. The greens fees were a super value thanks to GolfNow. Once you get to the first green, you realize they really take care of the greens! Perfect. Everything was excellently maintained. It's narrow with a bunch of valleys. So bring a lot of balls if you're not a tour level player! LOL It's a fun course.
Good value, great course
An enjoyable 4 hours playing one of the best courses in Vegas. Neighboring TPC and definitely rivals TPC for golfing experience.
New Vegas favorite
Thanks to Golfnow I have a new favorite go to in Vegas. Immaculate course and staff with great internet savings! Awesome value for the money and would recommend this deal to everyone. The rabbits playing in the native rough were entertaining...they were everywhere.
Lee S.
great views, challenging course.
Badlands is one of the great course's in LV. It is a mixture of target golf and grip it and rip it holes surrounded by multi million dollar homes.
Good course
I had a 8:00am tee time, I got there early and was allowed to go off first by myself. The course was in great shape but had lightly sanded greens. I finished 18 holes in 2.5 hours and was taking my time. I played the third 9 holes for $20 and finished by 11:00am. the starter was very helpful. shot 40, 39, 40. Glad i picked this course.
Great Condition
I arrived at the course and was greated by staff members whom were eager to please. As a single player the starter got me matched up with a group within minutes. Course was in great shape despite the heavy rain the night before. Tough course but nothing was tougher to deal with than the squirrel that jumped in my cart and stole my hot dog !!! Overall everytime I visit Vegas I will be playing Badlands again probably just to find that squirrel.
Badlands and GolfNow - great pairing!
I was looking for a Hot Deal on GolfNow specifically to try and play Badlands in Las Vegas/Summerlin. At almost 80% off the regular price for a round, I had a blast! Staff were great, helpful, and the course was in perfect shape! Thank you to the outside services guys for the heads up on getting a book for those tricky holes! I'll be back again soon.
Desert Country Club
Enjoyable but challenging course. Like all desert courses, the traps were hard from overwatering.
Would play this course again in a heart beat.
