Keep it in the narrow fairways... or else.
3 sets of 9 holes ranging in degrees of difficulty. Overseeding was happening so we faced conditions that might not be the norm the rest of the year. Greens were a little bumpy, but generally rolled true. Tee boxes needed some work, one nine was shaggy and the second nine so hard and dried up that it was hard to put a tee in the ground. But the two main challenges are the forced carries over shrubs and bushes, often with blind tee shots to uncertain landing areas. Then the rocky crags, barrancas, (truly "Badlands") that run along the fairways, around the greens, or cutting across the fairways . One needs to play this course a few times to know the routing and club selection. Until then play conservatively, go for nothing, and trust course management or this course will eat you up (and many of your ProV1's with it).
great course and staff
Great course, greens in good shape, tees and fairways in good condition. A couple of trees came into play.
Great overall experience tarnished by bad service!
I received horrible service at this course. The pro shop wasn't communicitive at all and I really didn't feel like a valued customer. Great course conditions with plenty of challenges along the way.
We played the Outlaw and Diablo 9s. They were diverse and challenging. The condition of the entire course was excellent. The greens were true.
I would recommend this course to anyone. top to bottom this course is first rate. the weather of course was hot, but the staff made sure our coolers were full of ice waters.
target course that is scorable but can also eat you up.
Target course that can really challenge you if you don't know your club distances. GPS in cart gave suggestions for shot selection (Trust them!). Would play it again for under $100. I paid $90 with online special.
Desperado 9- holes is a tough finish!
Badlands is always a challenge! Bring your A game or pay the price!
One of Vegas' best
Challenging target golf course. Buy the yardage book, you will need it. Great conditioning even mid-summer.
Challenging course
A Challenging course, quite a few shots over arroyos, and if you get in them, finding the ball is difficult. The sides are almost entirely desert with cactus, bushes, and a lot of rock. Challenging, but also fun.
excellent shot making course
Had a great time, even with the heat. The course was well maintained. Long enough to put premium on shot making. The staff was friendly. Only issue, no beverage cart in sight on the front nine.
"Stay out of the Rocks"
Badlands golf course is a great place to play golf. You must be fairly accurate to make sure you stay out of the rocks.
The staff out there are very friendly, and I highly reccommend this course to all.
Fun and Sporty Course
This was the first time that I ever played the course and was worried that it would be much more difficult than most of the other Las Vegas courses that I've recently played, due to all the reviews on here that said it was very tight. I didn't find that to be the case at all. I would say relative to most of the other courses it's tighter, but it's still pretty wide open out there. I used the same ball for all 18 holes and only ended up in the dirt twice.
Also, there weren't many blind shots at all as others alluded to. While a yardage book is always helpful, I don't think it is all that necessary. It was pretty much all in front of you. Being that the ball really flies out here in Las Vegas, big hitters can easily play from the Blue or even Black tees. And there weren't all that many layup holes as alluded to on here either. It's pretty much a typical Las Vegas course. But I did enjoy it.
Beautiful course with some great scenary.
This course is one of the top courses I have played since I have been here in Vegas. It is one of two where I said I must go back and play that one again. It is a challenging course with all the split fairways and doglegs. The greens were some of the best ones I have played so far. I will most likely be making this my home course and with the three different 9 hole courses it will always be different.
great course.very tough
Desert courses amaze me with ability to keep them green. This was fun ,but very hard
Staff was great and the course was fun and challenging to play.
We had a great time playing Badlands. The course was in great shape. It was a fair but challenging golf venue and would definitely go back again in the near future.
Par is a gratifying score
Super challenging course that forces you to hit your target. A must play for single digit handicappers. Solid bang for your buck with golfnow.com's "hot deals" (typically $45-50).
Stay away if you just want a relaxing round of golf
If you're an average to below average player this course can be incredibly frustrating. Slight miss hits are severly punished and anything in the desert is unplayable, that's if you're lucky enough to find your ball. And even good shots can end up rolling off fairways and into a deep arroyo. If you're looking for just a relaxing day of golf go elsewhere.
I'll be back.
A great variety of layouts and it was in amazing condition for mid-June. Excellent value for the money, too.
Great Desert Golf
Being from the Midwest, I always find this great course to be a real treat and unlike anything I would find at home.
Awesome
Very good course well groomed and good design. I recommend this course
