Looking back towards Vegas Photo submitted by Akpsy1 on 10/10/2012
Challenging but fair
Even though the greens had been recently aerated the course was in great shape. I would definitely come back and play it again.
Good value for the money.
The course is well maintained. I got a good deal from Golf.now.
Disappointing!
My wife & I played the Diablo & Desperado courses for the first time. Unless your playing with someone that knows the layout of the courses, your playing blind on many holes. There is no layout printed on the scorecard, at the tee or on the GPS. The course is challenging and it is important where you place your shots! We could have enjoyed our round if it had not been so frustrating after hitting a good drive that their was a fairway sand trap or arroyo that you could have avoided. Had we know before hand someone could have advised us to buy the course layout book in the pro shop - though one should not have to do that!! With all the great golf courses with exceptional customer service in the Vegas area, I have no desire to return to this course.
Best Value In LV
Badlands has 3 different nines that have something for everyone to enjoy. Always in great condition and very scenic. This is what I expect when I think of a Las Vegas style course.
Still a personal fave!
Arriving at 5:15 am for a 6:50 am Tee time, the shop was not open and had to leave for coffee and snack from somewhere else. Still, shop was not open until about 6 am. Having the place open an hour or so before play times is always a given feature that people can count on, especially when breakfast, etc and warm up are involved. Anyways, it is still one of my favorites in the Valley.
Punched greens for memorial weekend
Target course management . Scenic views among humongous houses. Good condition
Punched greens for Memorial weekend. Ridiculous
Bad greens makes the course not as fun
Hit Fairways and know your yardage and this is a great course.
I played Badlands yesterday....I played the Outlaw and Diablo courses. The course overall was in decent shape. A few tee boxes needed some TLC and the greens were hard as rocks. Almost any shot that hit the green was releasing off the back. I will probably play it again, but not on a weekend....
Challenging pin placements
Listen to the employees if they say it's a difficult set up and play the white tees if you're a first timer.
It had the most challenging final 3 holes I have ever played in Las Vegas.
Very challenging
Have played Badlands on numerous occasions. (At least 8) Course was in exceptional shape, which most courses should be this time of year. A few tee boxes were a little shoddy and the greens had some bumpy spots. If I had a real complaint it would be that we saw the beverage cart on the 2nd fairway then not again until the 17th. One cart for 27 holes is just not enough when it's 100 degrees outside. Clubhouse was very nice with good selection and food was very good too. Overall on a 1-10 scale, the day rated about an 8.
Challenging, well-maintained course.
Very challenging course with numerous forced carries and blind tee shots. Fortunately, I played with a member....otherwise it would have been difficult to know where to place several shots. Recommend getting the course yardage book in the pro shop. Very friendly staff. Greens were fast and true. Two "others"...greens would not hold even short iron approach shots and although the temp was in the 90's, no water available on the course.
Excellent and challenging opportunity
Played Outlaw 9 and Diablo 9 (tough challenging). Course in great shape fairways and rough.
Target golf!!!
This is a nice course. Fairways and greens are well maintained. Greens are not all consistent. The only drawback is that a few of the fairways are lined with houses. It takes away from the real beauty of the area. Fairways are NOT forgiving. There are 3 Nines. Outlaw is the easiest and most forgiving. Diablo and Desperado are TOUGH and target golf. Definitely take a "rock club" and plenty of balls if you are not straight and consistent off of the tees! The last two Nines are filled with deep arroyos. Regardless, it is a fun course - I've played it 4 times. Carts have GPS's. Unlimited Range balls. Using golfnow it CAN be a great value but watch for deeply discounted tee times.
it is always a great pleasure to play Badlands when in Las Vegas
super course Desperado is easier than Diablo , but the challenge is on each hole ...
One word : GREAT
Tough course. Must play target golf to stay on fairways!
Played with a great group of guys as a single. All of us were from out of town and throughly enjoyed playing this very challenging course. Badlands is the best maintained course I have yet to play in Las Vegas and you have many choices to choose from in this desert community! Will play again many more times at Badlands primarily due to the friendly staff that make non-locals feel extremely welcome to play at this location!
Great location
This course is in a great location. Overall for the price that we paid, I would have expected a little more. I thought the course had some great holes that offered great risk vs. reward shots. The greens were very firm and fast, with a lot of recent play/usage showing up on the greens.
Tight course with zero visual maps to help your planning
I'm fine w blind shots and tight courses, but give us a chance!
All you get is a yardage read out on the cart and a couple of lines
of text. Suggestion: Give out yardage books and /or have visual maps at each tee box. The lack of this made for a frustrating round.
nice course, tight but fair, well maintained, no issues

Excellent Course for the Money
My wife and I had a great time in spite of what we consider slow play (> than 4h 30 min). The greens were not in that great of shape, but the fairways, roughs, bunkers were very good shape. I would really like to play this course when / if they can get the greens in good shape (they were bumpy, dry compared to the rest of the course, and a lot of ball marks...). Excellent test, and a lot of fun to play!
Good value for the money. Played later in the afternoon so prices were very reasonable.
Played Desperado and Outlaw course in 3.5 hours. As a single, the starter put me on these two courses to make sure I could complete the round before darkness. Thought that was very accommodating.
Great day to golf
Badlands golf course is everything you want in a course. It rewards you when you hit good shots and penalizes you with errant shots Course is in great condition and the staff are very friendly.
Will be playing this course again very soon.
