Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

Fun course to play
The course layout was very good and fun greens were not the greatest on the front but back 9 was better.would like to play it again someday.
Great but could be so much more...
This is a great track with a lot of variety and many different ways to play each hole. Greens were great and the fairways ok. It seems to me they are more interested in getting green fee players on the course than looking after the course itself. The creek that winds its way through the course is full of garbage and many of the houses around the course are in poor condition. Given the history of this course, the uniqueness of the homes and their past residents, the quality of the track, this could be so much more...
Cool Locals Course with History
I chose this course for it's close proximity to the strip and the relativley low price compared to other courses in the area. I have played several courses in Vegas over the years and this was a nice change of pace from desert golf with the tree lined and somewhat narrow fairways. I also enjoyed the history associated with the golf course and the signs and displays describing events over the years. You can see several of buildings on the strip from select holes which added to the ambiance. I played as a single and the starter worked me in around my tee time without any issues. The fairways and bunkers were in good condition with a friendly rough. In other words, winter conditions the rough was dormant and thin as opposed to thick and difficult. The greens rolled mostly true considering they were rough and slow. The layout had several slight doglegs and landing areas off the tee box were near water hazards so hitting it straight was a must. More water than I had anticipated. The course was busy, but the pace of play was decent with the normal amount of waiting on each hole until the back nine. As it became later in the day, there were groups of 5 and 6 in front of our 3 some so we skipped a hole or two to finish by dark. The morning tee times appeared to be held by local residents, and the later times appeared to have more visitors to Las Vegas playing with their buddies, which would explain the large groups. All in all a good day with nice playing partners and an easy 10 minute commute to the strip.
"Welcome to Las Vegas"
My 2nd time to play this course, and definitely has become my go-to golf venue when in Vegas. Very near the strip, great lay-out, very good conditions, interesting history signs throughout the course and an incredibly friendly staff. Everyone from the pro shop, to the restaurant, all the way in to the cart barn is extremely enthusiastic and friendly. In addition, LVN has golf boards and bikes. So much fun, and improves the pace of play. I highly recommend Las Vegas National!
Slow Saturday
Frost delay 1hr
Pushed back all later start times
3hrs to play 9holes
Left after 9
Course condition is better
I play this course three to four t i mes a year and it seems it's in better condion than the last time I played. The only issue is I wish players would fill there divots in the fairways. I was in a,coyple old divots not filled at least three times.
Nice course
I enjoyed the round. Staff was nice and pace of play was good. Course was in good shape.
Wonderfully
Awesome course.
Excellent fairway and green condition.
Very friendly staffs.
Fun to visit at least once
Pleasant, quirky somewhat historic course.
Nice conditions for January.
Fun little plaques along the course telling which celebrities used to live in the houses and other fun facts.
There's definitely better and more spectacular golf in Vegas but I tecommend visiting once
Good Old Fashion Golf
Vegas National played its usual good conditions with medium green speed again. GReens could have been a little faster, after playing some " desert courses", these caused me to leave a few putts short. Fairways and rough in usual good and penal conditions. ENjoyed round and the course again. Staff could be little more friendly and smile more. THanks
course layout
A flat course with several long holes but not too elaborate a layout, but not bad
Returned for Second Year
A friend and I "snowbird" in Las Vegas for the last two years. Played this course last year and enjoyed several rounds. Our first round of this year was very enjoyable. Fairways are in excellent condition and greens are in good condition. Staff is friendly and we enjoyed a couple adult beverages in the dated but clean clubhouse. Definitely a course to try if in Vegas.
Would play this course again
Course was in great condition , staff was friendly. Would definitely recommend this course!
Great time. Golf with 2 older Korean women.they golf fast and could communicate.
Marhsall Needed
I was really looking forward to playing a course with such great history. We had to hit off mats and the pace of play was horrible. I started playing at 12:45 and we had to rush the last 4 holes and finished in the dark
