Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

A nice classic convenient course
This is a course that has great history. The fairways and greens are in great shape. Bunkers (I found too many of them) were soft which allowed for outs in one stroke.
The location of the course mKes for easy navigation from the Strip.
Historic Track
We've played this course each of the last two years on our golf vacation to Las Vegas. It's a pretty wide open track and enjoyable for the two of us, (14 & 20 handicaps). The fairways could use some work, but the greens were decent.
Long in the tooth
Close to the Strip but the Course has seen better days
not in good shape
you play this course because of its history and the pga players and movie stars like the rat pack ect. please somebody step up , write a check and get this wonderful course back on track.
Great Day at The National
After a quick warmup on the driving range,we headed to the first tee. The course was in good shape. One must make good shots to score well...poor shots will put you in the trees forcing you to chip back out into the fairways. Staff is very helpful, friendly and accommodating.
The course is in great shape
We played 18 in 4 hours, and had nobody rushing or hitting into us. The fairways are wide and easy to hit for any level of player. The greens were a little spotty, but not too firm. The course has great specials on food and drink. Overall a great course with very little of the typical vegas course desert areas. A challenge for players of all levels.
First time for a beginner in Vegas
great course, tradition, friendly enviroment. everything properly set. thanks Golf Now!
Closest to the Strip
This course is tucked in a neighborhood close to the strip. It is an older course with mature trees which protects it from the winds of the desert. Most of the fairways are wide but the water is strategically placed and can be hazardous to your game. We played three middle of the cost range courses and this was our favorite. The fairways were mowed extremely short which made our playing a little more difficult. Las Vegas covers a lot of territory and we opted not to play the courses on the west edge of town. After playing this course once I would like to play it again sometime. Visitor.
A gem in the middle of the city
This is another traditional course that can easily be walked. The holes are a little longer for women and longer clubs are needed to get on the greens. The holes are elevated and the greens are a challenge. There is lots of shade for when the sun beats down in warmer months. It was cooler playing but very enjoyable.
Great value
First time playing and we had a great time at National. The starters and the staff were great. Course was beautiful and some great views on the course. Wish I could hit it straighter I lost a ton of balls!
Unexpected challenge
The overall course condition is slightly above average for a public course and pace of play is good as well. Course isnt long but is far more challenging then expected. Course rating is wrong on golfnow it is 73.5/138 from only 6750 or so. Tough par 3s on back 9. #16 played 228 into the wind!
Goof course
The staff will treat you like a pro. From picking up your
clubs at your car to cleaning your clubs before you put them back in your trunk. Great course if you want to play close to your hotel. The course was in great shape with fast greens.
A true legend !!
This golf course has gone through decades of problems. From the original Stardust Golf Club to the Sahara to the Hilton and what it is now. It is an astounding layout. The greens have changed over the years from super fast rolled PGA Tour quality to a bit grainy but the same. Bring your game, this is a tough golf course. I love this place!!
Great location.
Will come back for sure. The staff was extremely friendly, and the course was challenging enough. The only knock, is the airplanes taking off all of the time
Worse Greens I ever play.
T boxes not in good shape, fairways ok, greens are too bushy. My ball fly is high and every time I approach the greens I make a big divot witch I like to fix when I get to the greens... At this course I never made a divot because the greens are like GIGANTIC AFRO! I'm not laying to you. I played with some local nice kid. I asked him why they don't cut down the greens? He said: that's the way they Protect the greens by not cut them. Bottom line you can't put on those greens you need a HAMMER!
Good value. Close to strip.
Always enjoy this course. What I did not like was price of the rental clubs for $65. I think that's a stiff price. I also did not like the blade-like feel of the Taylor-made clubs. Woods were good.
Terrible
Worst $99 I have ever spent. Wynn is down the street for $400-$500 a round which is too expensive for me but after spending $99 on this I would have spent the extra money in a heart beat. Terrible course conditions along with playing along chain link fences of backyards with dogs running along with you. Worst part was that I was entertaining a client and it was rather embarrassing. Went off the 4 star reviews on golf now which I can't trust anymore.

This reminded me of the type of course I grew up on. It was well kept for a course built in 1961. I sure we hit it on a good day, 3 1/2 hour round. Would definitely play it again.
