Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

Good course, great location
Enjoyable well maintained course. Minutes from the strip. Reasonably priced. Tough par 3s.
Terrible Scheduling. Scheduled us in the middle of a tournament.
The course was nice. However my group traveled across the country solely to play golf and booked ahead. Upon our arrival we were informed we would get about 3-4 holes in before a tournament started. Once we got past the 3rd hole there were EIGHT (8) golfers on each box and in front of us and behind us. I've played hundreds of rounds of golf and never in my life have been scheduled right in the middle of a tournament. Absolutely terrible experience. We didn't even get to finish our round and a complete day of golf was taken from our trip.
Course is in great shape.
Some of the past reviews of this course were not very kind. However I was very happy to see that the course was in great shape, it was very playable and challenging, and the course staff were extremely courteous and helpful.
Mediocre course but centrally located
Pros: It's convenient to central Vegas and was about a third the price of the casino courses.
Cons: Standard American parkland style course and eminently forgettable.
Oldie but Goodie
For this being one of the older courses in Las Vegas, it still gives newer courses a run for their money. Course layout is challenging for all skill levels and the conditions are always up to par. Will most certainly continue to play this course in the future.
I deafly wouldn't recommend it that day.
That was not a good deal that day, they're in the process of over seating, and that should've been revealed at the time that you purchased the round, I think it's the golf course responsibility to reveal that information, there was so many grass clippings on the fairway you could lose your ball and not even know where it went because the ball went underneath the grass clippings it was so thick.
Boggest dissapointment worst course I have ever played
Read reviews seemed like a good play. EVERY fairway was dead and brown. What gras there was , was brown cut and left in small piles in the fairway. Would not ever play again even if it was free. Not woth the time. Golf now should not even list this course since it is so unplayable.
Long drive for this???
Booked time via GolfNow prior to driving from Phoenix. No indication of any course maintenance or extraordinary issues going on. Not pleasantly surprised to see course shaved down as if overseeding started the next day. Inside staff very inefficient.
tight lies
Nice course conditions with very tight lies in the fairways. They were cut down and were fast. The design is classic and it is a wonderful test of golf.
Worth hot deal rate
Greens were being irrigated.
Tee boxes were being over run by weeds
Fairways were in good shape. No complaints. Course is fairy open. No real desert landscape to worry about.
poor greens
The course was not in good condition, greens were all under repair, with both sand and holes on them. they will properly be "great" within the next month.
The course has a interesting layout, and the potential to be really great, but it will demand some maintenance before one can call it great.
It feels like my home course to me.
Wide open but fairway traps are placed well. Par 3's can be a challenge with a drivable Par 4 for big hitters. Can humble even some average player's. Over all a good and close course to the Strip or Downtown.
Nice change of pace
Enjoyable old style parkland golf. Nice break from the ubiquitous desert style courses. Very good layout and challenge. Conditions good, bermuda greens not quite as smooth as the usual bentgrass, understandably.
Unkept and in poor condition
Limited flight balls off mats on range. Greens hard as concrete but shaggy and slow. Course was unkept. No fun.
Great place
For the price is a great place to visit on your vacation
Excellent older type Vegas course
Great course. Hit it straight though. Shame the neighborhood doesn't positively reflect the great history of this course. Would definitely play again and again.
Best value for money and proximity to strip.
Every time I visit Vegas, this course continues to impress. Great track and more importantly fun to play. Highly recommend this course to those wanting to enjoy golf for inexpensive play.
superb
played twice in two days.
very challenging, great conditions
great combination of holes; greens all have very subtle breaks.
come back in march and play again
Great Traditional Track
This is a great older track. Needs some TLC. Tees were rough, traps not trimmed. Little things that could make this a really great course again. Wonderful hole design and I would definitely play again.
GREAT Golf Everyone Should Play
This was the first time we played this course and it was in Great Shape we were able to get out early and played as a twosome. I would recommend this to anyone fairways and greens were well manicured and there is history here that everyone who plays golf should take in.
