Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

Great course
Great, challenging course with lots of history for Las Vegas. The Rat Pack use to call that there home and great people like Tiger wools play there on PGA tournuments.
NICE COURSE, NICE STAFF
Love this course, surrounded by "old Vegas celebrity" style homes. Greens were a bit shaggy but otherwise great course. Staff is super nice and informative. I will be back soon.
Good Round
It was agood course to play in Las Vegas and close to the strip. It was in very good conditon and the grens where fast. I would bring other to play,
Playing with the rat pack?
An iconic course. The course isn't in the best of shape and certainly not up to par with the higher end course. But, the course is enjoyable and memorable. No tricky stuff here. Just a plane jane, but still fun.
July Heat
nobody plays golf in vegas in 117 degree heat but we did. the course was well maintained and the greens held shots and putted well
course is wide open so play wasn't affected by looking for lost balls and arrant shots.
staff was minimal as you might expect being their non-peek time, but they could have been a little more attentive. we actually took our cart to our car after no one met us at the finish only to have someone drive over after we had unloaded our bags and begin wiping them off. Kind of late wouldn't you think.
Definitely going back when I am back in town
Challenging but enjoyable experience.
This was a surprising fine in the Las Vegas desert. The pristine greens and lush fairways made this a very enjoyable experience..
Not Bad
While I may have had higher expectations, I did expect the course to be in better condition. However, it is a decent course for the price. Probably won't go back, but would revommend for a fast round, hardly anyone on the course.
Great course
Not a bad thing about this course at all. They do need to provide free water though
good value close to strip
I think this course is good value given how close to the strip it is. I found a "hot" deal and it was really worth it. This is a fairly forgiving course for the weekend player. When I go to vegas with the fellows this course is on our agenda.
A Good Time
Great classic course layout unlike most courses here in the desert. Still a little trash issue in the canals although somewhat better than a year ago. What a great course this could be with some serious work. Still fun to play...
The course was in great shape
The course was in great shape, they were doing qualifications for the amateurs. So the place was in excellent condition .
Great course! Classic PGA tour links. Lots of history here.
This is the best course in Vegas for the price. PGA history and lush surroundings. Be prepared for long par 3's! Great fun, you won't be disappointed ------
Old School Course
Great course in Vegas. A lot of history. The staff was great and the course in great shape. Great value for the money.
Good shape..terrible pace of play
Staff was friendly and range was convenient. Value would have been better if pace of play allowed me to continue after front nine. Would play it again but not behind a tournament group.
VACATION
Would come back to play throughly enjoyed it. Several holes were challenging. Like the old courses.
It matters what you where ladies
My husband and I play this course each year when we visit Vegas and this is the first year that I had to buy a "collared golf shirt" to play. I had a very nice top on but it did not have a collar and the young man was boldly determined that I had to have a collar. (It did give me an excuse.....) Anyway, we had a wonderful round of golf on a very old and mature course that has all the fun challenges that mature courses usually have. It has always been a favorite of ours.
This course is in great shape. Well maintained.
I'll play again next time I return to Vegas. This course has a lot of trees. They provide good shade for the golf cart. The early morning tee time is recommended. The greens were slightly sanded but the ball still rolled fast with a lot of breaks to the hole. Tip - before putting, always read the break from behind the hole.
A Gem - Will Play Again
A wonderful traditional golf course - tree-lined fairways and small greens make it somewhat challenging. A nice change from the desert and target courses. Take your GPS unit if you have one - we didn't find yardages on the sprinklers.
Nice Course.
The course was in good condition but greens were still recovering from aeration so it was not very smooth for putting. Otherwise a good choice to play just a little expensive.
