Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

Good value, decent course.
Enjoyed our round. Greens looked bad but rolled very nicely. Well maintained course with friendly staff. I'll be back.
Las Vegas National
Good value and real nice layout. Would definitely play there again. Staff was very nice and the course was fun to play. Would be good for any level of golfer.
Solid deal on a nice cource--until you reach the greens
A nice feel good track with excellent course conditions until you reach the greens. The greens were hard, bumpy and a bit shaggy. But for $49 bucks on a beautiful Friday afternoon who is complaining? The best part was going in as a single and getting paired up with a good guy from London. We teed off at 4 pm and finished a6 7:05 just as the sun was setting. You really ask more than that,--other than a few less three putts.
OK course.
OK course, not real easy to find, map the hotel gave us not too good. Map quest ahead of time and should be OK. Greens were bumpy and slow, rest of course was fairly good. Due to poor map from hotel, we arrived right at our tee time, staff was very helpful at getting us checked in and onto the course.
Old style "Muni" type course
Tees below average fairways average greens below average and slow sand traps poor condition ... Mostly flat open terrain
Hidden Treasure
I played twilight rate of $69. For that price thought course was great. Normal Course rate is $89 (May think that would be on the high side). For a Muni Course thought it was in excellent course, good layout, decent greens, good pace of play. Only complaint was reserved tee time on Golf Now and when I showed up no tee time, lucky they were able to fit me close to my orginal tee time. Fairly close to Strip. Took cab from Mirage and cost $18 including tip. Good history with the course.
A good way to spend a nice day
This was my first time on this course. The price, through GolfNow, was reasonable at $99, which is about half the cost of most courses in this area. Very pleasant staff all around. I will be back.
Las Vegas national
The Course was in good condition, well manicured and maintained. The greens were a little slow, but were pretty consistent the whole round. The staff was pretty friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were old and bad, definitely need an upgrade. Overall a good experience, I would recommend to a friend.
Always a hit
Played on a Wednesday late morning (11:22 tee time) Starter got me and a friend out early and paired us up with another twosome. Everything about the day was good. From tee boxes to fairways to greens and even bunkers (which in the past have been a little iffy) were all very well maintained. If I have any complaints or derogatory remarks I can only say that the greens were quite hard and any long iron or wood approach shots had a difficult time holding the green. Will definitely play again and again. On average we play the LV National 2-3 time a year. Keep up the great work people.
Everything was nice but the range
The driving range is mats only, which makes hitting off grass difficult once you start playing. I personally won't play here again until they let you hit off grass at the range.
las vegas national
The course was very green, the greens where fast and broke hard around the holes. The rough was short and the fairways where tight . The golf was $89 ( including cart ) and $ 49 for rental, for a total of $138. The golf now.. advertised $ 45 for the round and cart. The course would not honor the deal because I was not from Nevada, and I think because they where the closest course to the strip they took advantage of non resident golfers. When your home town is under 5 feet of snow, what you gonna do?
close to strip
This course is a great getaway from the busy strip, but only about 4 mile away. It is the most reasonably priced course within the most popular area of Las Vegas and is a very nice course. I highly recommend this course if you are in the Las Vegas strip area.
Old school course
Course is laid out nicely. It's an old school course that is refreshing to play. Lots of history. Par 3's are long but playable. Fairways tight on some holes. Greens are true but not too quick. Nice track, would definitely play here again.
Good Value
Nice course for the price. Moderately challenging. Friendly staff.
I felt a sence of history
Visiting from N.Y. It made my trip. From being met as I arrived and told stories of Dean Martins house and the filming of scenes from casino was exciting. I rented clubs which were a brand new set of Taylor Made Speedblades and two sleeves of balls ,tees, towels and ice water! The greens were in great condition and the sand in the bunkers was the best I ever played out of. The history of all the greats who walked these fairways including Tiger made me feel special!
Thought it would be nicer
There are a lot of great courses in Vegas so I pretty much doubt I'd play here again, but it is not that bad for a muni course. Pace of play was ridiculous and the staff was a little less than friendly (though that doesn't really matter to me). It was above average but nothing to write home about.
nice and close to strip - older course nice layout
I enjoyed my round and the company of the group I joined up with. Good pace of play and nice and close to the strip where I was staying. I would go back , great value for your money.
A RatPack Track
This is a great little course near the strip. It reminded me of old Vegas. I could see Sinatra and Dean playing back in the day. Great value for the price.
Las Vegas National
I found the course for this time of year to be in good condition. The staff is very friendly. Overall we had a great time and would certainly do it again.
Player friendly golf course
Really enjoyed playing the golf course. I thought it was challenging for me with the fast greens. I would play the course again
