Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

The par threes were over 200 yards from the tips with large white sand traps protecting a rolling shot. The fairways were generous.
I would love to play this course again! I think it would be easier the second time around.
Nostalgic
Great experience even though there was a frost delay. The course is challenging and yet fun. The course is in great condition and all the staff deserves praise.
Fun course. Will play again!
Traditional layout. Fun course to play. Very good condition, and very handy to LV Strip. Rental clubs were good. Pace of play was very good as we started at 8 am. Will recommend to friends and hopefully will play again on next trip to LV.
I love this course!
One of my favorites in Las Vegas (and I'm a local). The course is typically well maintained, it's a classic layout that is walkable if you are so inclined. The staff is very friendly and you get free range balls to boot! Only complaint (and therefore 4 star instead of 5 star review) was that the group ahead of us fell a hole behind and would not let us go through and there was no marshall to be found.
good greens
fun, old-school type course. Smooth greens with a good pace.
Tee boxes could be cut a bit lower
Some very sneeky hidden hazards, but fun.
This is an older course but a fun course to play and stratigize. Near the center of Vegas so it is really convient .
Great Las Vegas Entertainment History
The course was great. Challenging and well maintained. Great history too of the Rat Pack and past golf favorites.
So so course
Course needs work on their sand traps. Not very eye appealing course. Needs more work care. I won't be back. If you are going to Vegas to play.. I recommend Tuscany - RHodes Ranch or Aliante
truly memorable experience
Want to come back, course has great history, lots of interesting holes, makes you think, but doesn't beat you down. By far my favorite golf experience on my Las Vegas visit.
Great Value in Vegas
I got a great deal on golfnow and had a 25% off code so I played this course for a little over $65 for a twilight. The regular rate for a twilight is $89. The course was in great condition. The fairway grass was a little longer than most placed but not really a bad thing. The rough is short but the ball really sits down. Most iof the greens were great but there were 1 or 2 that had some patchy parts. But the greens rolled true and were pretty firm. Also, WATCH OUT FOR THE MASTIVE DOG!!! I encountered it on the 2nd green with his little Yorkie buddy. I must saw I was super scared because it was starring at me and barking. The dog was HUGE! The dog belongs to one of the houses that are on the course. The Marshall came by and shooed him away, but as I was about to make the turn I saw the two dogs hanging out on the #2 green again. Overall a great course and close to the strip, just watch out for the dog.
Playable - traditional, not desert like
Enjoyed playing this course, challenging but playable. Plenty of grass on fairways, not the thin lies you experience in some dessert courses. Greens rolled true, but slow, will hold a quality shot.
The course played well and was in very nice condition.
Some reviews indicated the course was in poor shape and we found otherwise. Everything we green and wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time and would definitely go back.
Overall Good Course
Course in decent shape, good greens. Traditional layout, many bunker, many dog legs and somewhat long so it is challenging.
Old-school in the middle of Vegas
Very nice "old-school" course in the middle of Las Vegas. Well maintained with a great staff. I always appreciate good marshalling to keep the pace of play up and this course is among the best that I have played. Played a week or two after overseeding, only consequence was the fairways weren't mowed as tight as normal, but that wasn't a problem, the ball tended to rest high on the grass and was easily played. A good choice in Vegas.
great vacation golf
Close to MGM where we stayed, staff was pleasant and helpful, nice course that I will be playing again before returning home to CO. Thank you everyone at las Vegas national.
I liked the course even with the overseeding it wascin great shape.
Great course, and really friendly staff. First tine playing in Vegas and would surely do it again.
Great History at This Course
The greens were a little slow as I understand that they had just been reseeded. That is probably normal for the time of year. We were paired with a local golfer that was very helpful. The sand traps need additional sand, but the course was to be closed down for reseeding the fairways in a couple days so I would guess that they will also be refilled. Overall it was a great time! Take a few minutes to go into the clubhouse and check out the history.
Great Vegas course with history and great views of the strip.
Must play course for Vegas golfers. Lots of history and close to the strip.
PGA pros played here ?
Played saturday 11am for $45.
Since I was alone the staff hooked me up with 3 locals that played for $9.00......yes $9.00.
The tee boxes and fairways were a mess since the locals do not repair divots or even know what the sand in the carts are used for. The greens were in very good condition, probably since locals do not hit good approach shots to create ball marks (just guessing here)
This course used to be on the tour? The surrounding homes were in terrible shape similar to the course.
Oh well, I guess i was a little jaded since I played Bali Hai the day before. It was 2x the cost but 10x better,
I WOULD pay $9 and play it again.... maybe
