Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

Great course and rates close to the strip!
Nice course. Well maintained, good value, friendly staff.
not a fan of National
I played at National on 08/08/2013 and the greens were covered in sand, I could not see any grass. I have lived in Vegas for 23 years and the times I have played Las Vegas National the course it has never been in good shape from tee box to green. The price is ok but there are too many other good courses for tha same money. Also I am wish the staff would just be honest and up front when you call and ask about course condition.
Great course, great venue, great people, wonderful history. Will play again , soon i hope.
great course, great venue, great people, wonderful history, will play again
Good, inexpensive course close to the strip
Had a few hours in the morning before work and really wanted to play. Found on Golf Now for $79.00. Least expensive in the area for prime time. Rentals were $50.00, a little high but great Calloways except they should offer a choice of putters as I prefer mallet over blade and putting is so important to score well. Staff was great, had 6:30 AM tee time got off at 6:15 with a couple of locals and even though we had a slow group in from of us it moved well and finished in under 3.5 hrs. Course was in great condition, greens were difficult, sand was a little too firm making routine sand shots difficult. Overall a good time and definitely recommend.
Good Course
This was a good course and the staff was very friendly.
Great course for the money!
we paid $29 per player with cart and balls. I am a scratch and thought the course was in good shape. greens were about a 9 or a 10 and the fairways were in good shape. Sand was consistent. I am a member at TPC Summerlin...this course is no where near that but for $29 I felt like it was a very fun, enjoyable experience and the staff was awesome. Donna (bar tender) super sweet with great pours and attention to detail. I felt the toughest part of this course was the par 3's. every par 3 from back tees was over 200 with two at 233 and 227. the par 5's are reachable and fun but have small greens. Very old school course, the tees are right by the greens etc. fun course!
Excellent value
This was an awesome course and very green and well taken care of. It is links style where fairways are next to each other. It's not very long but a few of the holes provide a good challenge. My favorite part was how a beer after your round only costs 1 percent of whatever you shot. I only paid 35 bucks at 11 am. Couldn't be more pleased.
The layout of the course was fair and demanding
Our foursome enjoyed the opportunity to play at National. It had been awhile for all of us. We had a great time and found the course to be enjoyable. The staff was great and made our round that much more fun. I will recommend playing there to anyone.
Great place to play not far from the strip
Great course. I wish I was played better. It was pretty hot out there and considering I partied pretty hard the night before.. But no excuses. Greens were in great shape so were the fairways. I will be back to play this one for sure. Price was right and the course wasn't too technical to figure out. If you are looking to play a fun course that has some history and don't want to drop a whole lot of cash. This is the place. Make sure you book on this site.
Great value
The course was in great shap, the staff was extremely friendly and the price was amazing. The layout is old school with small rolling greens that were in great shape and roll beautifully. The grass on the fairways is a little long but I think that has something to do with the 115 degree temperature. In my opinion this is the best valued course I have played in Vegas.
Not what I expected.
After reading up on this course, I was excited to play. This is a former PGA & LPGA course so it must be great, right? Course has alot of history and hey even Tiger Woods played here in 1996, must be good right? High notes of the round...staff was super friendly and the food was really good, golf course was not what I expected. Granted, I payed $60 for an afternoon twilight round which was a major discount compared to the morning round prices of $100.. Course was burnt up, greens were bumpy and dying. Back nine was is better shape than the front. Some nasty houses surround the course. Pony up and spend money elsewhere this time of year.
Great public track
I had a 10:30am tee time, I was allowed to go out early and was pleasantly surprised at the lay out. There is so much history at this golf course I was honored to play it. I shot my career low round with a group of two gentlemen that let me join their round. Oh and by the way drive the 300+ yard par 4 13th hole pin high! Will play here again when I return to Las Vegas.
Felt like a nice muni course
The course was in good shape with very fast greens and nice lush fairways. I didn't enjoy the scenery with all of the old Las Vegas style houses lining the putter edges of the course but that was expected. The pro shop staff wasn't at friendly and shuffled me in/out quickly and failed to mention that every cart came with 2 bottles of free water...after I had already purchased 2 bottles. It took the beverage cart girl to tell me that. The cart people who pick up bag and put on cart were exceptionally nice and helpful though. But for the price of 80/round I'm sure I can find many more courses that are way better, even though it was in great shape.
Great Course Great Value
Close to the strip and great value. Great layout and course has some challanging holes
course needs attention
fairways not the best landing areas. Half the sand traps had rocks in them. So many you had to move the ball and worry what might be under the surface of the sand.
Great time.
Had a great round and played with a local golfer that was very friendly and fun to play. Outstanding afternoon.
Good course, great value
The course was in great condition and has a number of challenging holes. Starts with a solid par 5 and ends with a challenging par 5.
Just a fine course
Played 18 holes the staff was very friendly and helpful. Grouped with some guys that play there always, at the course really helped on how to play the course very freindly . The greens were in great shape and the fairways were well manicured. Definitely will play there again next time I get to Vegas
las vegas natiional
You had better bring your A game this is a very difficult golf course if your handicap is higher than 15 you are going to struggle.
very good traditional course
employees very friendly, a great value for the money, foods great as well
