Oyster Reef Golf Course

Our group of golfers played the Oyster Reef course on Hilton Head Island and the weather was prefect. The course was in transition and some off the course was in ruff conditions. There were some greens that had some bad area but overall they were smooth and true. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. One suggestion for the course is to consider having a forward tee the plays about 4600 to 4800 yards to allow the golfers to play a shorter course. Overall the course was challenging with the sand traps on the fairway and by the greens. For a group of 4 couples we only lost 3 balls.

The guy at the bag drop was very nice, friendly, informative. Pro shop was friendly as well. Pace of play was a little slow. The greens were ok. They putted true which is always a good thing. A lot of tee boxes were a bit torn up. Fairways were ok. I hate to rate this course too low because my round was in mid April and I suspect the course has not had time to heal from winter play. I've heard that the courses in this area are getting a tremendous amount of play and they are having a hard time keeping the courses in shape. Overall, the course was challenging enough to play but still fun.. Nice layout. Will play it again in another month to see if.it heals from all the winter play.

This is by far my favorite golf course in Hilton Head played it twice this.trip and at least 40 times in the last few years. It is always in excellent condition the staff is great. Last trip it was the only course I play bought unlimited membership for the month played it also everyday.

Staff was not friendly, slow pace of play with no ranger, felt like a local muni….

Was so looking forward to playing this course with my group of 8 women...right off the bat the check in man was not very friendly and did not want to except my fees I already paid for the on-line reservation..claimed that had nothing to do with them...then the manager stepped in and said the same thing..claimed it was a fee that Tee-off charges ( which apparently is not the case). The ranger check-in was very rude...assumed 8 women did not know rules and would be slow golfers so felt he had to explain everything and was snippy when I drove away. We felt like we were being constantly watched by rangers and when we got to halfway point we fell a little behind because of a bathroom break. (took a minute due to construction going on in the clubhouse) so ranger didn't hesitate to tell us we were too slow ( by the way we caught up in no time). No one in our group are rookie golfers. I will say the bag people were very friendly and helpful so hats off to them.

Great value for money. Especially if you can snag a hot deal on golf now. Very friendly staff and great range and free range bars which is a nice bonus with the exception of one green. The course was in good condition. A little bit of repetition with some of that Whole designs, but still very playable and enjoyable. Would really recommend this to a friend.

Overall, it is a nice course and played well. We played this as our second course on our first day. at HHI. Pace of play in the late afternoon was quite slow which made getting into any rhythm a bit more challenging. Course conditions are pretty good. Would play the course again but there are many courses to play and choose from.

Nice track for early season game pace was a little slow otherwise good value golf

Haven't been to HHI in years, so wasn't sure what the course's condition would be like in early April. And since at my home there's still snow on the ground, seeing leaves on the trees and green grass is a bonus. Overall the course looked good for this time of year. Some greens under repair, several approaches rock hard, but the sand traps were good and pin placements on the greens took most repairs out of play. And though we waited on almost every tee to hit, we still finished in just over 4 hrs.
