Oyster Reef Golf Course

Oyster Reef is our first choice for Golf when we come to the island every December. As with years in the past, we found the staff friendly, the conditions above average, and. the pace of play wonderful! We highly recommend this golf destination!

The course is in good shape. It has two very interesting par threes. Many doglegs make it challenging, but it is fair. Greens are good, not great, but they roll well. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The course was very enjoyable. The greens were in great shape, and the fairways were still green as well. I would definitely recommend this course.

Played 3 other courses on HH earlier in the week, and all 4 players agreed that Oyster Reef was the best course for the money out of the 4 we played. Not too hard, not too easy, but good for 65+ golfers. Would definitely recommend and will play again.

Oyster Reef sits nicely in the middle tier of publicly accessible golf courses in the Hilton Head area. It meanders nicely through the island's forested, older northern quadrant, supplying a highlight on the par-3 6th, which glimpses the Port Royal Sound. The rest of the way, it is standard, solid resort golf, with elevated, well-protected greens providing much of the challenge, as well as some (but not too much) water. Some of the more aggressive fairway bunkering has been toned down in recent years to enhance playability and lighten the maintenance pressure somewhat; a good change. The LagerHead Tavern restaurant in the clubhouse is a nice spot for lunch.

Very nice course. The only negative was the greens where a little fuzzy.

Played several other courses in the area and these were by far the slowest.

Still a terrific track and will play it again.

I enjoyed this course. A few greens jave issues with fungis I think. Freindly staff, free range balls. I didnt test the traps. More pines on this course than others I played here. The par three at the bay was amazing.

Nice course played as a single. Went early that there was a twosome at the tee box. I advised starter it was up to the twosome if I played with them as I was scheduled later with another group. Was told that it’s his decision and they don’t allow twosomes out. Weird since they had a tee time as a twosome and if I wasn’t there would they have to wait for another golfer? Anyways, there was a member (single) whose other 2 were running late and was allowed to tee off. Course was decent but one staff member was coming towards us on cart path as I was trying to tee off. Doubtful I would return

I really enjoy this course. It's layout is challenging, but it does not beat you up. It has always been in great shape. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A really nice place to play.
