About
Located in Florida’s oldest city, Royal St. Augustine Golf & Country Club offers a glimpse of the area’s lush foliage and native marshlands. The course has a visually interesting layout with elevated, sprawling greens and a variety of bunker shapes and sizes. The moguled fairways and sandy waste areas are two other distinguishing features of the course. It is a tight course with large greens and gentle undulations. The layout provides a “target-golf” experience that puts a premium on accuracy and distance control. The numerous bends in the course in combination with the blustery winds also makes proper club selection very important.

Poor greens
The course is not in very good shape, particularly the greens

Not worth the visit
Course is in very bad shape, fairways tee boxes, greens. Etc on the upside Staff was very friendly and welcoming., cart guy was very nice. All in all Wouldn’t play course again even if it were free. Spend your money and time elsewhere.

Great staff
The course needs some updates. Greens are a little rough but improving. Restroom facilities on the course are just portapotties. It is a beautiful layout & location. Clubhouse and grill area are great. golf carts are very well maintained and seem new.. The course poses some challenges for a a mediocre golfer like me but I love to play there.

Rough day on a tough track
Despite very windy and cool conditions I was all set for a fun round on this local St. Augustine course. The staff was friendly and we eventually found our way to the 1st tee despite confusing signage,. We found this track to be almost totally lacking in any sort of maintenance. Sparse fairway grass and lumpy greens that were more dirt than green made for a difficult round. This course has loads of possibilities because it has a challenging layout but the lack of care made it almost unplayable at times. Too bad because the price was right but I guess you get what you pay for.

Royal St Augustine
The course is deceiving with there being drop-offs on both sides of fairways which tended to send balls into hazards, rough was almost non-existent. There were several greens that were in bad shape, overall they were passable. The only good thing I can say for the course, its condition was reflective of the $30 price I paid.

Hidden gem
This course will surprise you.
Great layout, and tight fairways.
Greens were in very good condition.
Course seems to get tougher as you progress through the round.
