About
Located in Florida’s oldest city, Royal St. Augustine Golf & Country Club offers a glimpse of the area’s lush foliage and native marshlands. The course has a visually interesting layout with elevated, sprawling greens and a variety of bunker shapes and sizes. The moguled fairways and sandy waste areas are two other distinguishing features of the course. It is a tight course with large greens and gentle undulations. The layout provides a “target-golf” experience that puts a premium on accuracy and distance control. The numerous bends in the course in combination with the blustery winds also makes proper club selection very important.

Hidden gem
The starter is one of the best people I have ever met! Not ok with the guy searching for balls in the way of play and telling people to pair up when the course is empty. But I would go back every week just to listen to the stories from the starter smoking his non filters. Course is in pretty good shape as well.
Royal St. Augustine
Enjoyed the course overall. There were a few greens that needed attention, but the team had adjusted the hole positions to where they were in the best area of the green. Staff was friendly.
Most Improved Award
The Most improved award goes to…. Drum roll! Royal St Augustine! Great job to the grounds crew! Keep up the great work.
Not a Golf Couse
This course was in terrible shape… The greens were nonexistent. The tea boxes were full of dirt and weeds, and the fairways were. About the only place where there was grass - dont waste your time or money
Great value in the area
Many courses around here are struggling with the health of their greens and still charging full price rates. The staff at Royal St Augustine are great, the course is in better than average condition for the weekend warrior and for the price it is extremely hard to beat. It's certainly a target course - very easy to get into trouble. You need to play conservative, smart golf here.
Early morning Wet Weather - played back 9 only
Very narrow (only played back 9 due to early morning storms) fairways in good shape, couple greens/Tee boxes could use some love. Overall not as bad as some reviews I saw.
Fun Course
The course was in decent shape. Some of the tee boxes and greens were patchy but overall a good experience. Some of the fairways were very narrow. So good drives were important. I’d play the course again for sure!
Challenging
This was a tight course which made it a challenge if your tee shot was off even a little bit. The only real issue was that most greens had some problems, and were in repair, or had patches of sand. Some tee boxes were almost non-existent and needed some seeding badly, but you were teed up so didn't matter as much.
To many greens down, flags in fairwas first 5 holes.
Greens unplayable
There were 4 or 5 greens not playable and a circle was painted 20 yards closer with a hole cut in. If I had known I would not have played there.
