About
Located in Florida’s oldest city, Royal St. Augustine Golf & Country Club offers a glimpse of the area’s lush foliage and native marshlands. The course has a visually interesting layout with elevated, sprawling greens and a variety of bunker shapes and sizes. The moguled fairways and sandy waste areas are two other distinguishing features of the course. It is a tight course with large greens and gentle undulations. The layout provides a “target-golf” experience that puts a premium on accuracy and distance control. The numerous bends in the course in combination with the blustery winds also makes proper club selection very important.

Not a walking course
Long way between most holes. Lots of water, and homes
Getting there!
Course still has some green’s issues, but most are in much better shape.
One big issue they let way to many twosome’s out for a Saturday!!
Interesting layout from the blues. Do not take this course lightly.
Bumpy Ride
Cart paths and fairways need much work - and once done this would be one of the great courses in the area...
Tough track
I’ve played it several times. It’s great for the money, just not a great course. Maybe a little above average. Certainly not easy. It’s a challenge for sure. Greens are ok. Fairways are ok. It’s just a great value.
Don't play herr
Front nine , horrible fairways, no grass, hitting off sand and hardpan..
. Greens, worst condition ever seen for a golf course that was once very nice. Left after 9 holes..
Nice course
I thought it was laid out nice, the staff was super friendly, the driving range was in good condition. I did have to take a double look on the ninth green as the have a very life like alligator statue on it. Some one has a sense of humor and yes I was planning on how I was getting back to the clubhouse!
Better places to plat
Staff was rude in pro shop and on the course, course wasn’t in the good of shape and the tee boxes were horrible
Surprise Conditions
We have played St.Augustine 5-6 times a year for the last 10+ years. It has gone from a challenging Target course with well maintained greens and fairways over the past two plus years to a dry, weed infected eye sore. COVID has presented it's challenges to staffing all over, yet here there been a surrender to nature. Broken fence sections rather than being repaired or replaced have been removed completely. Fairways are clipped short with hard dry sections. Greens are decent and very fast due to compacted soil rolled flat. Sand pit rakes are non existent. The most positive comment is the newer golf carts.
Frequent visitor to st. Augustine -john
Great track. Fun lay out. Super narrow fairways the traps/hazards on the course make you play more strategic off the tee verse using a driver for all par 4+
