About
Located in Florida’s oldest city, Royal St. Augustine Golf & Country Club offers a glimpse of the area’s lush foliage and native marshlands. The course has a visually interesting layout with elevated, sprawling greens and a variety of bunker shapes and sizes. The moguled fairways and sandy waste areas are two other distinguishing features of the course. It is a tight course with large greens and gentle undulations. The layout provides a “target-golf” experience that puts a premium on accuracy and distance control. The numerous bends in the course in combination with the blustery winds also makes proper club selection very important.

Slow play
We had a tee time at 11:22 am and got to the course before 11:00 am. We sat at the first tee box for over 35 mins and hit our first shots just after noon. We played nine holes and wanted for every shot on every hole.
Challenging Course
This was my first time playing here, the course is narrow so you may want to make sure you're striking the ball fairly straight. The course condition was good in some areas and spotty in others. Its a challenging course. For for around $30 its worth it, but not much more..
Good course - very narrow and lots of water
This course is pretty challenging for the average golfer. First time here, so getting around was a little confusing. The course winds closely around the houses so errant shots - WATCH OUT !! Conditions were fine for November golf. But very narrow with lots of water to get into trouble. We lost a total of 10 balls - yikes !!
Royal st aug
Fun course. Not in the best shape .you get what you pay for. Long distance between holes .crossing over a highway bridge. It kind of cool. Snack bar was amazing best burgers!!!!!
Overall, great time.
I would play there many times if I could. I was visiting.
Not in good shape
Even for the price at $40 was still not worth it as the course is in poor shape tee to and including greens. Only positive is it is a very tight course so good to practice iron shots mostly only. 2nd time playing and was in better shape a year ago most likely won’t go again.
Early morning play
Was fun and challenging. Few more amenities and my stars would be different.
Worth $27
The greens were below average. Any course is almost unnecessarily tight. Just a very average course.
Good for the price
Newer carts with usb hookups.
Fairways and rough areas well maintained.
Bare bones clubhouse, but does have a full bar. Food menu is good.
Biggest drawback right now are the greens. Lots of crabgrass.
It’s a tight course, so bring extra balls if you don’t hit it straight.
Great Course!
Great golf outing at Royal! Not sure why this course gets the rating it does. I see what others are saying about the crabgrass on greens but it never caused issues for us. Beautiful course, would definitely play again!
Fun at the Royal
This was a pretty nice course wonderful value for the price staff was extremely friendly yet the greens needed work. Yes when I have the opportunity I will play it again.
