Located in Florida’s oldest city, Royal St. Augustine Golf & Country Club offers a glimpse of the area’s lush foliage and native marshlands. The course has a visually interesting layout with elevated, sprawling greens and a variety of bunker shapes and sizes. The moguled fairways and sandy waste areas are two other distinguishing features of the course. It is a tight course with large greens and gentle undulations. The layout provides a “target-golf” experience that puts a premium on accuracy and distance control. The numerous bends in the course in combination with the blustery winds also makes proper club selection very important.

One new thing

I forgot to mention, There was a homeless couple living in the woods off hole 16. That was a special treat / but I think if you hit into them you got a free drop

What a mess!

They are doing some repairs to the course and have apparently abandoned routine maintenance to get those done. About 25 pct of the greens and tee boxes are in serviceable condition. Most of the fairways are completely arid but a couple of places are for some reason swampy and nasty. The course has always been narrow and slopes towards hazards, but with it being so dry and actually barren, balls run forever and invariably out of bounds. Many if not most of the greens are sandy dirt and close cut weeds. We have played RSA many times, but it's just in awful shape

Very Challenging Course

Royal is the most challenging course I have played recently. Though greens were thin in spots they rolled very well. Fairways and Tee boxes were fine. You will lose balls on this course. And take note, the White Tees are the Senior Tees.

Accuracy a must

Go off the edge of a fairway and good chance you roll into a penalty area. Not at all enjoyable.

Golfing in St Augustine

Course is fun to play

Biggest concern is the hot deal situation involving morning tee time with 2 or 4 players instead of

1 -4 most times have 3 players which now is not available

No one seems to know why

Golf course says it’s GolfNow

GolfNow says it’s the course

Needs to be addressed

Great day of golf

Course is well kept and staff was amazing. Only thing that was interesting was the course layout but the greens and fairway was kept up well.

Goat track

This is the worst course I have played in 20 years. There are bare patches on the green, weeds all over the fairways, tee deck that are bare . Save your money andd go hit balls on the beach it will be much better. The holes are so tight that you feel like you are playing in someones pool area. There is no signs of maintenance anywhere , the grass is dead in most places. Its a goat track, save your money!

There was no ranger on the course to tell people to keep up the pace of play, no garbage cans on the course for garbage, everything was thrown in the woods, so sad!

Needs a lot of work

Fairways in bad shape, greens inconsistent and slow; however the pace of play was good, and for the money you couldnt grumble too much.
