Wedgefield Golf Club
About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Great value for the price
Like the layout and greens were in very good condition. They do roll a little slower than some courses. Putting was good and true. A few of the greens have a lot of undulations and can be tricky. Positive: fairways had enough grass that you have good lies. Greens overall were in decent shape. Price was very good for course conditions. Negative: a few areas have been missed by the mower. The rough could be a little taller and thicker. Sand traps need to be turned over and raked daily.
Needs Work
One of the few tracks around that wasn't $60+ to play on the weekend. Our tee time was at 1:45 on a Sunday because we booked it late and there wasn't anything earlier available, but I think the AM times were only a few dollars more something like $46 + tax. We paid $44 total incl tax. So for the price it was good enough but it does need a little love. No rakes on the carts or by the bunkers and the sand was hard grey dirt. Greens weren't too bad but the tee boxes were a mess.
No ball washers, no drinking water, no sand or n sand bunkers, no cart service, terrible fairways and surroundings of almost all greens. I don’t think I want to play here again until the course conditions meet a minimum set of basic requirements.
Great Value But Needs Organization
Arrived at 8:30 for a 9:10 tee time. Proshop is nice enough. $5 for a bucket that’s maybe 30 balls. The practice range is a disaster. No flat areas to hit off and the mats covered with grass clippings / clumps from the mower blowing them all over. Chipping / putting green was amazing. Groundskeeper was cutting new holes and said most green were in about this good of shape. He wasn’t wrong.
We were told to start on hole #10. Tee time was 9:07. At 9:05 we headed to 10. 4 groups in front of us and no starter. Asked what time their tee times were and they said they were making the turn. No clue why we were starting on 10. Tee of at 9:25. Course in great shape. 16/18 greens were amazing. No water coolers anywhere so bring lots of water. No beverage cart either. 18 holes took roughly 4 hours. Once we made the turn back to 1 it was smooth sailing.
Well worth the $45 we paid through GN.
Best conditions we have played this winter
Course was in great condition. Played several courses in the space coast area this winter this course by far was in the best shape. Tee boxes and greens were in excellent condition. Course is challenging most greens protected by sand. Played with a hot deal this is an exceptional value. Will definitely return.
Wedgefield CC
Course was in great shape but the pace of play was slow
Beautiful course and great price
Loved this course! Overall it was in great shape. Pace of play was excellent. Nice holes, greens rolled true. Excellent value. I would definitely play again
Great course - good value
Played the course for the first time as a part of our holiday trip.
After been playing a couple of courses in bad shape it was great to be playing a course with ok Tee-boxes, fairways with grass and greens with grass that was generally in good shape and let you put and have a chance to hit the holes.
The layout was fun and challenging and speed of play good 4:00 for a round 😊
Was missing rake’s in the bunkers and the cart-paths has seen better days.
But overall the course are in good shape for this amount of money at this time of the year 😊
Will be back Wednesday for another round 😊
disappointed
We have played here before and it was ok. This time the greens did not roll true, very bumpy, the fairways were full of mud spots and tee boxes had little. grass.
Wedgefield Good Value --Eastern Orlando
Thanx to GN for the Hot Deals @ Wedgefield. Good course conditions, good greens; typical Central Florida layout of flat course, water, sand bunkers, and perched greens. As a single, I joined up with another guy very familiar with Orlando golf, and we talked about all the courses we've played, some closed & a few survived the Management Co regimes that milked them to the brink. This is a good length course for me, only a couple 400+yards par4s for this old distance-challenged guy. Pace-of-play was great, till we got jammed up on back9 by hole #12, but still finished in fine fashion. A couple of 3putts & Bogies 17 & 18 (DbleBogie 15) kept me from breaking 80, so I will be back to redeem myself.
Great value for your money
Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were very good. Traps are just okay. A fun layout ans ell worth the money!
