About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Price
Green fees are very reasonable. Course is fun to play very user friendly..
Decent course for the cost
I know you get what you pay for but Wedgefield has always been a great value. The issue now is that the greens are not rolling true anymore due to an evasive grass on them which makes me think it’s not worth playing wedgefield anymore until they are in better shape. Other than that everything else is pretty good.
Wedgefield is Fun Course of Great Value
Thanx to GN for the Hot Deals. Course is typical Central Florida layout being flat, water & sand. A couple of hidden hazards (starting with short left of #2 green), but a fun layout. The short par4s have tough greens, and good mix of par3's (#8 is Fun little hole over corner of marsh). Mgmt is very nice & welcoming to us old guys using GN Hot Deals. I teamed up with another Single, and we had a good time. We got thru a 4some on #4, then clear sailing till we got jammed up on back9; still didn't wait much, as we discussed all the Orlando courses closed over the past 20+yrs. At any rate, I recommend Wedgefield, and would play there more often if only a little closer to my home base in Winter Park.
Nice course
This was the first time golfing here and I had a positive experience. The staff was friendly but, I would of liked for them to at least ask if it was your first time as I didn't know where the first tee was. Luckily, I asked one of the golfers that was about to leave and he was nice enough to guide me. Furthermore, he gave me a tip to help me on the course. That's what I would have liked from the people in front desk. The signs on the sidewalk were pretty much clear and guided us to the next hole to the exception of one hole that was close to the pro shop , I believe it was the 15th or 16th hole, which was across the street and no sign telling you to cross. Luckily we saw the golfers ahead of us and we figure it out. The grass was well kept and the greens were slow the way I like them so I was very happy about that. The front nine was hard with a lot of water hazards and bunkers but, the back nine eased up. There were a few short par fours and overall I was very happy to the exception of the young kids behind us which almost hit my partner and not being patient. It's a short course (par 69) but, very challenging indeed and fun. I definitely recommend it for the price I paid which was under $40 in the morning.
