About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Good Greens
Overall the course is in good shape, greens are in great shape but fairways could stand some attention.
worth checking out
I like this course...great greens, fairways not perfect but price is right. I play here about once a month and it is worth trying particularly if you are on the east side of town. Monday they seem to catch up on the mowing so the rough was deep and most places a little furry but not bad really.
Wonderful course
I was impressed with the course it was amazing and very challenging and I would definitely play your course again I’m from Miami and drove down to play with my buddy and he suggested you’re course very friendly and pace is so good
Horrible Condition
There are some many nicer courses to play for the same price. Golf carts are old, cart paths are in terrible shape, fairways are full of weeds and tee boxes are average. The layout is pretty boring with the exception of a few holes. We played this course based on the 4 star rating but we for the life of us couldn’t figure out how this course got an average of 4 stars.
As stated before, there are too many other courses to play that are much nicer for the same cost. The gentleman that check us in was very nice and we had a mixup with our tee-time and he worked it out which was nice of him but after our round we wish he would have passed on this course. We love trying new courses but this one was very disappointing.
Diamond in the rough
This course is not swanky country club nice but, all aspects of it are very good. It is always worth the money and has plenty of tee times available.
Nice Greens - Need to add yardage markers
Overall an enjoyable course to play. Luckily the guys I played with had a range finder. Course really needs to at 200, 150, and 100 marker posts. I was totally guessing on some shots. This is a basic feature that should be on all courses. My rating would be higher if they added this.
Greens in really nice shape. Tee boxes seemed to be under repair. Most of them were in rough shape.
Should have played earlier as I got caught on the back nine in The afternoon thunderstorms
Pasture
I played here a lot earlier in the year and it was decent. In the three months since I last came out here, it’s gone way downhill. Greens are okay, roll true, but are slow and spongy. Fairways are like pasture land. Weeds everywhere, lots of bare spots, just crap. Bunkers are hard with little to no sand. Not worth even $20 to play, avoid at all costs.
This course has come a long way
It has been at least 20 years since I played this course.It has improved greatly since then.Just need’s a little more maintenance
Good course
Wedgefield is an enjoyable course to play, usually not too crowded so you can play a relaxing round without waiting at every tee box for 10 minutes. The course has a few strange holes, but overall it’s a fun round. Greens were in good shape. Oh and there are a LOT of sand traps!
I play here at least once a month
the courses location may be quite out-of-the-way for some people ….it’s only about 20 minutes from my house so I find it quite convenient. The Fairways in places are embarrassing much like a cow pasture but for the most part they’re OK and the greens are absolutely perfect. Course has some water and some distance to it….I wouldn’t recommend it for somebody who can’t hit the ball Very well not a beginners course really
Great course at great price
This course is always enjoyable. The greens are in great condition and the general condition of the course is good(a few things that need to get fix, but good). The layout is great with a good mix of challenges.

Still needs work on the fairways, but they were actively spreading fertilizer when we were there.
