Wedgefield Golf Club
About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Brutal
Had to wait 20 minutes for a cart. Which still did not come and forced to walk the front nine. Greens were weed filled, furry, and patchy. Could see the skeleton of a course that once was, 20 years ago, but would not recommend it to anyone unless you’re out there teaching your five year old to play
Enjoyable round …
A majority of the greens were excellent, maybe the back nine needs extensive attention, overall the course is well laid out , no hold up at all, staff very friendly … Will play there again, good value for money … If you look at the fees of a lot of courses in the area the cost here is excellent …
Friendly Staff!
Great people doing a great job on course improvements! Better each time we play there!
Getting better
Wedgefield is a great tract and is improving. check it out.
Just having fun
The course was in good condition. It's been a few years si ce I last played here and wow what a difference the condition of the course is now. They seem to really care about making this course in good condition.
Getting Better
Course is definitely moving in the right direction. By far the best it's been in the last 4-5 years. Greens are much better and course improvements are taking place. Still only 3 stars out of 5, but would have given it one or at most two a few years ago. Couldn't convince my normal foursome to return this year. I will. They deserve some support for their efforts. Layout is a good one.
Need improvement
The fairway and most green needs a lot of improvement
Decent course, poor pace, need ranger
I got onto this course for a late Sunday morning and was on a decent pace until the 4th hole when I got behind a couple of "Big Hitters" and I use the quotes to knock their abilities. They waited until the group in front of them were on the green on a Par 4 and then they would tee off with a shank, slice or do some other awful ball strike that sent it everywhere but down the fairway. They "read" every putt they had and basically slowed down the whole front nine. I finally sprinted in front of them at the turn and being I was alone, the group on the 10th tee let me tee of and play through. After that, I was joined by another single golfer and we had a very decent back 9. Saw the 2 that were ahead of me on the front 9 just teeing off on the 12th when I was on the 17th. Saved a few hours there. However, none of this should have been an issue if they had a ranger out there keeping track of the course. The course itself is decent, some of the fairways need some work as do a couple of greens but for a small course with obviously limited budget, it was ok. I'll probably play it again.
