About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Golfer Reviews
Wedgefield Golf Club
This course is it has a nice layout it is in good shape the greens are true. Staff inside and out is very friendly and accommodating.
Course keeps getting better
Wedgefield has been a course on the rise, improving every time I've played it over the past 6-8 months. The owner clearly cares about the course and the players.. I played on Saturday morning and the pace was awesome. Although there was 1 temporary green and 3 others that were slow due to long/new grass; the reason why was explained to us. I highly recommend this course and will play again soon!
Worth the money.
Pleasantly surprised at the overall condition of the course. Fairways had a good roll to them, ruff was a challenge, and the greens were excellent with a true roll. We will definitely return., not to mention the friendly staff and great food.
Getting Better
Every time I play at Wedgefield you can see things are getting better.
New Tee Boxes and down to two Temp. Greens on the back.
To the owner.. keep up the good work!
don't go there yet
I played here a couple of months ago and tried again yesterday hoping their rebuilding of the back nine greens might be complete,....nope they had four temporary greens so I played the front nine twice from different tee positions, The front greens are nearly perfect and the fairways a bit weedy in places but I don't mind that for good greens,,,,,give it awhile and read the reviews before you go
Yikes
They should invest in a lawn mower. Weeds were knee high. Probably the most poor conditions in the Orlando area.
Course improving
I have played this course several times and the conditions keep improving. They have improved most of the greens. This last time I played 3 of the greens were temporary. They have also improved a lot of the cart paths with new concrete. The fairways were lush but there was a lot of crabgrass. The only complaint I have is that the greens were VERY slow. Think molasses in winter for an idea of how slow. Almost every putt came up short even though I was putting a LOT harder than I normally would. There was no reading the green because the ball would go in all directions because of how slow the greens are. Other than that, this is a very enjoyable course and I will definitely be back.
