Mountain Vista Golf Club - Santa Rosa Course

Shot gun start after the club's men members morning tourney. Well managed buy a great staff.

As usual, course was in terrific shape, particularly the greens. Not a tough layout, but very pretty, with enough challenge to keep a once-a-week golfer such as myself interested. Too bad this course become unaffordable during "the season"- enjoy it now, while prices are very reasonable! Excellent practice area.

Very playable but not easy. I like the combo tees. Greens very fair and overall conditions great.

Played the Santa Rosa course yesterday.

This course is always in great condition.

Staff is very friendly.

Price was just over $6.00, I used my golf now rewards

But, normally it would be About $25 for this time of year.

Temp. was 105, but, had a nice breeze blowing all day so it didn't really seem that hot.

Great course for beginners, and mid handicappers.

Great test of golf. Puts a lot of stress on short game.

The course we is great shape.. had a blast! Highly recommend

This course is in great condition, is as challenging as the tees you pick and a place you will want to come back.

pace of play was slower that usual. greens were slower than usual. better luck next time

Our two sons joined us for the round. They were very impressed with the course, as we were our first time.

Course was in good condition, but is clearly designed as a resort course with crazy wide fairways and overall fairly easy holes. Not the course for a single digit player that wants to pay a round in under 4 hours. There are better alternatives in Palm Springs for sure.

Course in good shape and pace of play good

Course seems very easy when you look at the fairways, however I found the greens hard to read, and walked away with a higher score than I expected. Water doesn't seem to come i to play. Look forward to play it better next time.

When we booked on Golfnow, we had no indication that the time was a "shotgun". We were not happy but later found out this course does shotguns on Tuesday Wednesday Thursday and sometimes other days.

We saw a course Marshall once at the start when he ordered us back to the clubhouse after we went to the 18th tee box which was our first hole.

That was the last time we saw a marshall!

We left the course after 13 holes. The pace was unbelievably slow. On the way back, several fairways had no golfers and one hole had no golfers on the fairway or green! When we arrived at the clubhouse, we wanted to voice our concern and it was closed. The time was 4.45. We teed off at 1.00.

Will I go back?

Not likely.

When we purchased on line tee times, we did not know they had shotgun start on Thursdays. They put 8 people to a hole (A&B). Pace was better than expected, but slow, The restaurant is not associated with the course and the course has no beverage cart. It was a pretty warm day and water on the course is very rare. The kicker is there was no one to tell a new comer what to do. Most of the golfers were local. We could not distinguish employees from others and it seemed we were always in some member's way.

Conditions were perfect. Fast greens, immaculate fairways. Pace of play was 4 hours on a Friday.

Only beef is that there was no beverage cart.

Hope to play there again.

The entire golf course (Santa Rosa) is played in a big wide ditch that runs through coachella valley. Very flat except that every green and every tee box is built up on a plateau. So you climb the 10-15 foot elevated hill pretty much 36 times. They don't have a border collie to chase the geese away so a number of the greens are literally covered with goose droppings. I will not return to this course. there are too many other great courses to play for same or less money here in the desert.

Very enjoyable course. Always a good experience. Will be returning.
