About
The 18-hole championship course at Don Shula's Golf Club is one of those courses that just seems to get better as you play your way around.
The first few holes are fairly open and not overly difficult. However, things start to get more difficult as you continue. By the time you make it to the 11th green, you'll know that you're in for a real dogfight. The fairways on the back get tight and there's water on just about every hole. All in all, it's a very enjoyable course from start to finish.
There are tennis courts, multiplex, fitness center etc. There’s something for everyone. The hotel's onsite amenities include upscale dining at the Original Shula's Steak House and casual dinning at the Bull Pen, which serves breakfast lunch and light dinner until 7pm.

Poor Conditions
My girlfriend and I played the Shula course on 3/25/17, we found the course to be in terrible shape and the pace of play was very slow. The greens were ok but the fairways and tee boxes were in very bad shape not much grass in either place. One would think with Mr. Shula's name attached to this course that conditions would be better.
In closing the hotel was very nice however, if you stay there look for another golf course.

At one time this was an Iconic course. Like many the economy has affected the condition of the course. "Starters" had no clue on what they were doing. Sending out a single on a Sunday in April. Also a 5some. Players have no clue to golf etiquette. Slow players not letting people play through. No rangers to encourage this. Probably won't go back. Second time customer service was lacking

Thank you for your review of Shula's Golf Club. Our starters have been instructed not to send out 5-somes on busy weekends. We do have a lot of hotel guests that have riders who watch the golfers. Sometimes people can get mixed up with a rider in a cart and think that it may be a player. We will continue to retrain our starter/ranger staff on pace of play etiquette. Thank you for your input.

Poor
The starter was not friendly at all. The course fairways are poor for the 1st 16 holes. The greens were pretty nice on the whole course. The fairways were dead grass.

Decent track
Good greens, fairways & traps; poor tee boxes; very slow play 5 hours as course appeared overbooked on a Saturday; the course has a lot of water on the back 9; course is a bit on muddy side with rain; good value for the money

Great course in Miami
Not super long very challenging greens were great and speed was consistent fairways a tad bit rough and the rough was kinda bare
But all in all a great course with a great history

pace of play was way to slow, took us 5 hours to play .
The course is i. Great condition , but the pace of play was way to slow and we did not see a marshal trying to speed it up. Greens are in great shape and so are the fairways.

Thank you for your review of Shula's Golf Club. We apologize for that slow pace you encountered on 3/18. We were missing our Ranger that day. We have recently hired more part time rangers to alleviate this problem when a ranger does not show up. We are finding that the pace of play ion Saturday mornings is anywhere from 4 to 4 hrs 15 mins with the pace slowing down as the day progresses. We will make sure to properly train our new staff on pace of play. We are glad that you found the greens and fairways in great shape. We hope to see you again very soon.

Awesome value
Course is in decent shape they are making improvements all the time . When you golf weekly you definetly want a good value . I believe it's the best value / experiance in north dade .

This course is good value for the money. The fairways are very average but greens are excellent. The front nine is ok but wait for back nine as there are some great holes. A fun course to play.

good course
We have played here several times and always enjoyed it. This time most of the fairways needed a little work - the grass was sparse and not very "cushy", but the greens were very good. I think a little rain will restore the fairways .
Back nine much tougher than the front nine!

Thank you for your review of Shula's Golf Club. We are sorry to hear that the conditions of the course did not meet your expectations. We have had a very dry winter with a lot of play. Our superintendent has started his spring fertilizer program a few weeks earlier to combat the thin areas. It looks like you played on a very busy Sunday afternoon. The pace of play is on average at 4 hours or better for golfers that start before 10am on weekends. We just held a women's collegiate tournament the day after you played. The teams found the course to be good shape with the winner shooting -3 for 54 holes. We hope that you give us another try in the future.
