The Senator Course at Shula's Golf Club
About
The 18-hole championship course at Don Shula's Golf Club is one of those courses that just seems to get better as you play your way around.
The first few holes are fairly open and not overly difficult. However, things start to get more difficult as you continue. By the time you make it to the 11th green, you'll know that you're in for a real dogfight. The fairways on the back get tight and there's water on just about every hole. All in all, it's a very enjoyable course from start to finish.
There are tennis courts, multiplex, fitness center etc. There’s something for everyone. The hotel's onsite amenities include upscale dining at the Original Shula's Steak House and casual dinning at the Bull Pen, which serves breakfast lunch and light dinner until 7pm.

Well kept greens
I only got to play 8 holes before we were rained out, but this is one of the best courses I have played in Miami. The greens were beautiful the fairways were fantastic and even the bunkers were kept in great condition. I believe this course is better then the biltmore and will definitely be playing here more
Great course
I had a great time playing this course. The course is taken care of very well and the greens were good shape. I would definitely play here again. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only thing I thought could have been better was the pro shop.
Shula's is a very good experience
Greens could have been better; but overall well worth the cost as it is a challenging course with great site lines!
Not a cloud in rhe sky
Shula is a very enjoyable course, very well kept, with very friendly staff. The pace was a bit slow.
Don Shula's course good or bad?
Hmmm well let me first say when I first pulled into the parking lot I thought to myself, this is why it was only $35 on golfnow, the range needs some work....... HOWEVER I was very pleased and would definitely play this course again..... the course itself was in pretty decent shape, and the greens were VERY nice...... had a great experience and I would recommend this course, GREAT value for the money.
Good golf course
Doesn't like. By the arrive nobody meet. Drinks arrives only on 9 hole.
Other things are good.
Nothing Special
Had played here in early 1990's and it seemed a lot nicer back then. The layout is fairly pedestrian -- not a lot going on. It seems like they re-did the back nine to put a lot of uninspiring, man-made water hazards in, which did nothing for me. Still, the greens were in very good shape and the staff was friendly. At $60+ per it was probably overpriced, but that may account for the lack of people out there, which made it nice. It is a pretty easy course, especially if you are not playing from the back. Even back there, I don't think it would stretch to much more than 6500 yards, notwithstanding what the scorecard might say.
Great course, lots of water
Course was great overall. Most holes have water on them and if they dont, they were narrow. I want to play again
Nice golf course
We were a twosome and when we made the turn there was a foursome teeiing off on 10.
Don't think that was right to allow.
Also disappointed that the range was not open.
Watch out for water!
Nice course and very good value. Huge greens; tough to read and smooth. Will be back.
Great Experience
Top notch place to play. Green and fairways for the most part were in the kind of shape you would expect to find at a private course.
Staff was friendly and accommodating, as usual.
If your electric cart starts to make jerking motions, be prepared for it die out.
Ours died on the 11th hole. We called to the clubhouse and within 10 minutes staff brought a replacement cart out to us.
Try Shula's out and you'll find it to be a great S. Florida course. I hope to play it time and time again this summer.
Miami golf outing
We were paired with a lovely couple from Montreal and had a wonderful time. The weather was beautiful with sunshine and warm temps. We enjoyed the time and the challenge.
Good course
This course is good value for money. Quite challenging holes and greens in good condition. An enjoyable day of golf.
Lot of water!
Course is very nice but if you are first time in this course, be aware water is everywhere! A few times I hit the ball without any knowledge about the water hazard and just lost the ball...
Good price through gn app
Nice course , good greens! Only down fall was that I had to rent clubs and they charged me 50$!!!
Nice greens pricey greens fee
The course had a nice lay out. The course was not busy but play was very slow ahead over 5hrs for the round. The course had many high handicap golfers looking for balls. This is not a course for a 20 handicap it has a to much water. I would not play here again for $55 dollars.
Expected more
This course was very busy and pace of play suffered. The course was average. I was expecting more out of the course considering the cost. It was nice to play here but would not go out of my way to play there again.
dropped the ball
The staff is clueless. I reserved my 7:30 tee time a week in advance. Upon arrival I was first told that there was a college tournament and we could not go out.
Then we were told to go out and stay 1 hole away from the tournament players. There was only 1 set of tee's to play from and the course was in fair condition at best. Do yourself a favor and play anywhere else. It's a shame to have the Shula name on such an outdated property.
Fun course, but mismanaged
This course was fun to play and I enjoyed it. The employees were nice, but they had no clue as to what was going on. The starter told me he would pair me up with another single and I never heard from him again until it was 10 after my tee time and I went and searched him out. The course was busy with groups on the greens, in the fairways, and on the tee boxes and seemed to be moving along well. When I reached the turn the restaurant was already closed (4:00 on a Sunday) and the marshals had already gone home for the day. You could not even get a drink as every thing was shut down. A fun course but lack of organization and management.
All In . . . A FUN DAY!
We had a great time! It's not the Taj Mahal, but it was a very fun day!
