River Oaks Golf Club
About
River Oaks Golf Club stretches across more than 800 scenic acres along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Course begins with the shortest of the three nines and finishes with the longest. The final hole on the front nine presents one of the most interesting risk-reward opportunities on the golf course. You can aim for the right bunker for an open shot at the green or try a long drive down the left side for a short approach. River Oaks Golf Clubs' Otter nine has several challenges in store including mounding, strategically placed bunkers, and tricky water hazards.

Nice Course
Played 10/03/2021, Small Pro shop Limited
Food options Pre-wraped cold sandwiches and hot dogs. Course in good condition. Fairly nice
Greens, true and fairly fast.Staff excellent.
Playable Track, Good Value
A fun course that is in pretty good shape. Bermuda grass fairways and greens. Lies were tight in the fairways due to cart traffic. Bermuda rough is thick but not overly penalizing. Several water hazards and bunkers to negotiate.
Staff was friendly. Pace of play was good on the Otter nine (1:50), but slowed considerably on the Fox nine (2:30). Took our threesome 4 hours, 20 minutes to finish the round.
A challenge every time I play
Fox was in great condition. Got to play the Bear course one last time before it is gone
Thick ruff areas
Course was very pretty, Not used to the long grasses off the fairways. We had a 4some with lots of players in groups of 1 or 2 we ended up sending through behind us. At Home they group those more. That caused our time on the course to be longer as we were slower due to more people.
Vacation round one
Nice layout, descent conditions after long hot summer. Some fairways had a few weeds on them. There was one bad green and a few tee boxes in rough shape. Back nine play was a little slow. Overall good value.
Really Enjoyed the course
This was my first time playing the course. It was in good shape from tee to green. I imagine once the weather breaks from high temperatures , the course will be in even better shape. It appeared they had a decent staff taking care of the course.
Nice Course but pace of poor.
The course was ok but one of those courses where around took almost 5 hours.
Nice place to play
Only thing was the cart paths are a little rough.
I had a great time, 18 in 3.5 hours.
Best price in Myrtle Beach!!!
15 minutes from downtown.
Course was in good shape, greens were a little slow and very challenging.
I will make this one of my regular places to play on every trip to myrtle.
Worse greens
Don’t play here please!! I wish I could get my money back I will never be back here..
Horrible cart patj
Major work needed on the cart path. The bridge to Fox and bear is too steep to suit me.
Undecided
Although I shot really good, the course conditions were terrible! Bunkers were unplayable, rough, bad, couldn’t find balls if you were in it. Greens were really good, but slow! The layout was very nice and challenging! Has a lot of potential! Hole placards didn’t have yardage or how the hole played!
Good value
Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Good tips from starter especially. Course is in good shape. Two greens had some issues but on way back to healthy. Fairways were in very good shape. We had a good amount of rain on the back nine so there were some wet area but didn’t take long to drain. $49 for a weekend was great value for the course we played. Had we paid $69 or over I would have been a little disappointed. Great course to start the weeks golf plans.
