River Oaks Golf Club
About
River Oaks Golf Club stretches across more than 800 scenic acres along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Course begins with the shortest of the three nines and finishes with the longest. The final hole on the front nine presents one of the most interesting risk-reward opportunities on the golf course. You can aim for the right bunker for an open shot at the green or try a long drive down the left side for a short approach. River Oaks Golf Clubs' Otter nine has several challenges in store including mounding, strategically placed bunkers, and tricky water hazards.

Good Bargain in Myrtle Beach
Very friendly staff at check in and in the food and.beverage service helps improve the image of this average golf course. Greens were ragged and fairways were recently mowed after heavy rains. Tee boxes showed heavy ware.
River Oaks - July 2021
The starter was excellent. Gave great tips about the course
Good course for the $$
Played Otter/Bear. Nice layout, some tough holes some easy straight forward holes. Well placed hazards. Some of the greens could of used a little work but overall I enjoyed the round. Well worth the $$.
Nice Course but cart paths need work
Played 18 today and workers were very friendly. Greens may have been airated recently because they were kinda sandy. Several cart paths were in pretty bad shape but mostly still drivable. Overall it was a pleasant round and I would play there again.
Best Value in Town
I’m a Myrtle beach local and this is my favorite course to play alone or invite buddies in town too. In decent shape for the price and this time of year with the excess traffic. 27 holes so it doesn’t get as jammed up as others.
I drive about 15 minutes past whispering pines to these guys just because the staff is friendlier and more welcoming.
At daughters dance competition
The course was in average shape. For the money, it was a good value.
Great time
The first course played on vacation and I really enjoyed this course! Played Otter/Bear and both were in excellent condition. Greens played a little fast but nothing crazy. And the price was a bonus. Other than off and on light rain...this course is a win!
Great
One of the best golf courses I have been on by far… very very very friendly staff…. Will be playing this course again before we leave!!!!!!
Great Condition
Played Fox/Otter courses. The tee boxes were a little chewed up due to play but good overall. The fairways and greens were in great condition.
Not bad, but pace was slow and cart paths bad condition
A nice course. Nothing special. Pace of play was very slow and I had to skip ahead and miss 4 holes. Cart paths in bad condition. But fairly easy course and in good condition. Very friendly staff, especially the starter and the cart lad.
Fox > Otter > Bear
Friendly Staff, Easy to use practice areas, very easy to get off on the courses. Overall, tight course. A lot of tucked pin placements and small greens. Cart path is very old and almost gone on Bear. Fox is the most maintained and obviously the “signature” nine. Solid course but nothing to go home bragging about. For the $, it’s a good value.
