River Oaks Golf Club
About
River Oaks Golf Club stretches across more than 800 scenic acres along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Course begins with the shortest of the three nines and finishes with the longest. The final hole on the front nine presents one of the most interesting risk-reward opportunities on the golf course. You can aim for the right bunker for an open shot at the green or try a long drive down the left side for a short approach. River Oaks Golf Clubs' Otter nine has several challenges in store including mounding, strategically placed bunkers, and tricky water hazards.

Mid winter round
Course was just thawing out. In spite of spots of casual water we could tell it was well maintained. Generous fairways. Moderate length but strategically placed bunkers kept the course very interesting. Liked the small greens which made for challenging targets. Most sloped from back to front which made them receptive. Good old fashioned golf course.
Some Greens were in bad shape, fairways ok but some were extra wet
Some greens were in rough shape, fairways ok but some were extra wet otherwise a good layout and fair challenge from the white tees, good value for $40!
Good Value
I’ve played here dozens of times. I am dismayed by all of the residential development taking place. That said the course was in decent winter condition, especially following a winter storm. Brown on the shop was awesome. Course conditions were not terrible. Some greens had bare spots but overall they rolled decent for winter. Good value for a chilly January day, especially with a GolfPass discount.
Rough shape
I played this course like 2 years ago and it was in great shape...this time not so much...pretty much a dog track.
Fairways were very wet and rutted in spots. The greens were in bad shape too. Impossible to roll a good put.
The pace of play was so, so...many groups os 5 playing and we even had to call the club house because of a group of 8....go figure...lol
The staff were super nice though

Would not recommend
Was very disappointed with the course. Fairways were in poor condition, greens were not much better. Waste of time and money.
Course conditions
The course were so sloppy and wet it should not have been open.
Awesome
Had a great time with my grandsons also great rates . Will be back again to play.
Great course
Great place to play, rented golf Clubs… would recommend taking your own, clubs I rented were old and not worth the money to rent them.
Great course for the $ in Myrtle Beach
Nice layout
Course staff helpful & courteous
If in main MB a short drive
Course is a nice layout w/ varied features
Alternate tee locations are nice
Fun and interesting course
The course was great. Better than average conditions for winter with a few muddy spots but overall firm and fast but playable. Somewhat tight layout and very challenging green complexes. Not overly long but it would be best to play up a tee due to the tight fairways and difficulty tiny greens. I used everything from 4iron to driver off of the tee. A good mix of holes but I was still able to make birdies. Friendly staff and a great overall experience.
