Farmstead Golf Club is a 7,242-yard par-72 layout on McLamb Road in Calabash, N.C. and is among the newest courses to open in the Grand Strand. Farmstead also has the unique distinction of having the region's only par 6! That's right, the 740-yard 18th hole is sure to become one of the most talked about in the Grand Strand.
Farmstead was designed by Willard Byrd and David Johnson and features a rare par-6. The 18th hole measures 767 yards from the back tees, as well as 679 from the white and 635 from the ladies' red tees.

Playing between NC and SC
Nice course between North and South Carolina.
You pass often the "border"...
Nice finishing hole, Par 6, starts in SC and ends in NC.
Good conditions, nature, ...

Great Greens
After playing a couple of local courses I decided to try out this course. WOW, we these greens outstanding compared to the other courses I played. Even the dormant grass seems to be greened up more. I did struggle with the length on a couple of wholes, but over all it was great. It was also fun that the course plays on both sides of the N. Carolina/ S. Carolina border. I will play this course again.
Super , only bad point toilets on the field dirty.
Early tee time be warned
Greens at Farmstead are top-notch. Atmosphere is Really peaceful and quiet. No houses around!! Several tee options to choose from. I played the tips and it was long, but fair. Only good things to say about the course.
Unfortunately, they double book the nines in the AM.. turn nine and there are 6 groups on 10!! If I can figure out how to post a picture I will.. back nine took over 3 hours! Absolutely ruined a great experience.. it was so bad we will probably never go back. I would recommend if you can get a pm round on a weekday.
Up on the Farm
Very enjoyable round...an interesting layout that will challenge every golfer. Prepare for #18, and you thought a 6 was a bad hole!
A good blend of holes that will welcome a well placed tee shot and test your target golf skills.
I look forward to my return to the Farm.
Farmstead - one of the best at the beach
Had never played this course, but based on reviews gave it a try. Great layout and condition. Will definitely play again. All players in our group were private club members, and we thought this course was excellent.
Great round at Farmstead
Played this course with my wife and another couple. Course was in good condition and greens were excellent. Pace of play was just over 4 hours on a busy day. Paid $39.00 on golf now. Excellent value for the cost. Would recommend the course. Overall great dat
Pleasant surprise
Exceptional layout and perfect conditions from the tees to the greens. Could not have been happier!
We'll be back
This was our first trip and to say the least ... we were impressed!! Great layout and well taken care of. The only complaint was the starter said the greens were about a 10 on the stimp. Maybe a 7 at best but the rolled true and were very smooth. The finishing hole is a long dogleg left par 6 with water on the left. Save a little bit of gas in your tank because you will need it to finish that monster!! We will be back.
In Midst of grass changes, fairways tees and greens where in very good condition
Good shape, foursome, 1st time played, pace of play, 4hrs15 Min. Will go back.
Great Day
Really had a good time. Greens were consistent but slow. GREAT staff to meet you.
Feb, 2017
Conditions : Greens - very good
Fairways - very good
Tee boxes- excellent
Bunkers- good/ wet from rain.
Enjoyable round
Fair course with nice playing conditions, great finishing hole 679 yard par 6 from the white tees.
Crossing State Lines
Unique in the fact that course crosses state lines between NC and SC. Also has a par 6 on the 18th hole. Water comes into play on several holes.
Couldn't ask for a better conditioned course to play in February. No surprises, what you see is what you get layout. Great greens with subtle breaks that force you to pay attention. Will always try to play here when I am in the area.
Very interesting course
Greens were perfect; real links course; lots of fun! Par 6 is a tough finisher, but fun.
