Farmstead Golf Club is a 7,242-yard par-72 layout on McLamb Road in Calabash, N.C. and is among the newest courses to open in the Grand Strand. Farmstead also has the unique distinction of having the region's only par 6! That's right, the 740-yard 18th hole is sure to become one of the most talked about in the Grand Strand.
Farmstead was designed by Willard Byrd and David Johnson and features a rare par-6. The 18th hole measures 767 yards from the back tees, as well as 679 from the white and 635 from the ladies' red tees.

Great Condition
Beautiful course in great condition. Pace was a bit lagging with 2-4 minutes wait on most tees. The GolfNow rate was a great deal
Awesome course!
Farmstead was a very fun and challenging course. Great condition overall. Bunkers were very nice and soft, greens were smooth but just a little slow and very fun layout with a par 6 18th. Only thing is I don’t think full price should be $74 as similar courses in the area that are just as nice start at $50 or so. Would definitely play again with a hot deal!!
Great Course
Wonderful course. Great conditions. Great layout. Staff was great. Will be back.
SLC
Great course. It was cart path only the day we played. Made it a little more challenging
As stated previously, layout is great. Driving range was closed. Fairways were very wet. Greens were fair, but just top dressed. Cart paths only due to wet fairways.
Will be back if in area
Prior reviews are spot on. Great set up for a course. 18 is a monster and was lucky to get a 5 for a birdie. Playing in both North Carolina and South Carolina on same course was definitely a unique experience. Too Notch!
Impressive
First time I’ve given a Golf course a five star rating. Have played Farmstead on and off for 20 years. This is the best condition I have ever seen this course in.
Tees are well-maintained, fairways are like carpets and the greens are pristine and fairly quick. The traps are well-maintained and the fairway roughs are in great shape. The only negative was that I did not play better. Will be back, soon.
A Definite Must Play
Farmstead was suggested by a friend. Fun and playable layout with a variety of holes. Tees, fairways and greens were all in SUPERB condition. Was the highlight of the 6 courses I played and will be on must play list next summer.
Great all-around course
Played Farmstead for the first time today. Absolutely loved the course! VERY well maintained. It was challenging but not overly so. You couldn't spray golf balls all over without getting penalized but you also don't have to be so precise it takes the fun out of it for us amateurs.
I will definitely be back!
Course in Excellent Condition
First time playing at Farmstead and we were very impressed. The grass was pristine even despite the lack of rain we've had in the area in the last month. It was a bit slow for the first few holes but sped up after that. Definitely will be back to play this course, hopefully sometime soon!
