Enjoyable
Enjoyed the course. Open fairways and in excellent condition considering the recent rains. Will play again when I’m in town.
Soggy mess
Not getting any roll this week. Cart paths only and they require you to take a cart. Any low spot in fairways and rough is muddy. Some bunkers were not raked and has washes, others had standing water. Greens, though dormant, were in pretty good shape. We teed off around 1:00 and barely finished the round, 4.5 hours.
Enjoyed it
Considering all the rain course was in nice shape. Most sand traps excellent despite rain. Course always in good shape Fast tricky greens. Fairly wide open course with some water coming into play. Staff very friendly and played with some members who were friendly.
Enjoyable
Cart path only but not too wet. Fairly open course, some water. Bunkers in bad shape a lot of rain lately but no signs of maintaining. Nice course overall would recommend and play again
Wet day
Enjoyed the round very much! Greens were excellent fairways had bounce and roll. Can’t wait to play again
Call ahead
Every thing was great at the course except for the wet conditions. CPO(cart path only). Call ahead for conditions.
A two state beauty!
It was windy and the ground was still wet from abundant rain over the last few weeks, but the course was in very good condition. The greens, however, were crying out for some TLC after the never ending trek of voracious golfers left many reminders of their attempts at par and birdie. Although the varietal grass chosen was carpet like, it was showing that it was tired. Despite this, it was a beautiful mild day for January golf, and a most enjoyable one. Try the course and judge for yourself. Farmstead golf is special! A friendly smile in the pro shop would be most welcome.
Played on a golfnow hot deal. Very good condition...felt layout was a bit monotonous given the lack of elevation changes. Course was practically empty so pace of play was not an issue. Would play again but not going on my must play list for Myrtle.
Farmstead Calsbash NC
upon arrival the staff was friendly and helpful. i was by myself so they got me in with a 2 some ahead of my tee time. The tee boxes and fairways were in great shape especially for this time of year. The greens were like carpet and fast. downhill putts could be tricky. The 18th par 6 is a good finishing hole with room to bailout away from the water. Would like to play it again.
Excellent Track
I played here on a nice winter day and had as much fun playing golf as I've had in a long, long time. The course was so much fun. It was challenging but VERY fair. As long as you didn't spray the ball too far off line you weren't going to lose a ball. There was some water, but it was avoidable and the design allowed to play away from the water without additional penalty. We played the blue tees and even with the wet, overseeded fairways the course wasn't overly long. Even the 18th hole which was a 700+ yard par 6, was very fair. It wasn't tricked up, it was just a long hole that, for most golfers, would require 4 shots to get to the green in regulation.
My only gripe would be the hole locations. Of the 18 holes, I'd say about 14 were on the top of a little knob or ridge, which made holing putts of any length quite difficult. The frustrating part is the green complexes were very fair and allowed for much better hole locations than were being used.
Nevertheless, the course itself is really good. Very, very fun design. Some great holes. Excellent condition from tee-to-green. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in the area.
Great experience!
Outstanding layout, fabulous condition, and a fun yet challenging play. Really enjoyed it!
Cold Day in Carolina
Course in good shape but wet to to rain a few fdays ago and apparently heavy watering. With cold air and wet fairways ball wasn’t going very far so course played long. Good layout and would play again.
Enjoyable Day
Really enjoyed the whole experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating. For being damp/wet, the course was in very good shape. Challenging but not punishing. I had a chance to hit almost every club in my bag. Very nice practice range and green. I will definitely go back and play again.
