Farmstead Golf Club is a 7,242-yard par-72 layout on McLamb Road in Calabash, N.C. and is among the newest courses to open in the Grand Strand. Farmstead also has the unique distinction of having the region's only par 6! That's right, the 740-yard 18th hole is sure to become one of the most talked about in the Grand Strand.
Farmstead was designed by Willard Byrd and David Johnson and features a rare par-6. The 18th hole measures 767 yards from the back tees, as well as 679 from the white and 635 from the ladies' red tees.

This is the one to visit
Always staying in Cherry Grove, I've played a few in the area but this is the one to play. Best staff, great range, full cafe and drinks, and an amazing course. In great condition.
Slow
Played in the afternoon. They must have sent their marshals home for the day. One foursome ahead of us with at least 2 holes open in front of them. They were pretty oblivious and thought they were the only people on the course. A Marshall to prod them along would have been helpful. Great way to spoil a good round of golf
Was great
course was very dry and that helped the ball run. Usually this area wet, so pleased with conditions.
Course very fair test. Staff was excellent
How come I just found out about Farmstead?

Awesome course. In excellent condition. Played a few courses up the road earlier this week and nothing compared. Highly suggest this to anybody in the area. Great value. Great staff. No issues with pace whatsoever. Ideal vacation golf!!

Visiting
Recommended by a friend from and it definitely one of the better ones we’ve been too in NC/SC. Great round on a great layout, fairways and greens are in phenomenal condition
Hidden gem
Course conditions as good or bettet than courses in the area that change 2x the price. Layout interesting as well.
Beautiful Day of Golf at Farmstead
I always enjoy playing Farmstead as the course conditions are always good, the staff is friendly, and the course is a mixture of somewhat challenging holes, especially when windy. Strategically placed bunkers both in the fairways and around greens seem to protect most pin placements. No putt is straight as every green has subtle breaks. And the greens are true. Players who can chip well from around the greens and who can read the speed of the greens can score well. There are birdie opportunities, on # 1 and 5 0n the front, and # 11, 12, 14, and 17 are the best opportunities on the back. So good luck and enjoy your round at Farmstead.
Luscious
Farmstead was the best course we played by far. Luscious greens and fairways. Challenging and fair layout. Great pace of play with super friendly staff. If we played here first, we might have not gone anywhere else
Greens
Good smooth greens. Pace of play slow for mid-week
