Surprise Gamble
Need to play early and Farmstead was my only option and I didn’t know much about the course. So I took the gamble and I wasn’t disappointed. The course was in great shape and the greens were perfect and true. The staff at the bag drop were friendly and got us off quickly. We were the first group off and finished up in less than 4 hours and was back on the beach with the family for the afternoon. I will definitely be back to play this track again soon.
Nice track
A very nice layout. Was disappointed not to have refreshment cart thw entire back nine on Labor Day. With no on course water because of covid its important to offer playwrs fluid when its 90.degrees out there.
Great course
Great overall course,,,3 stars for staff friendliness only because of the snappy guy at the check in counter,,the cart guy was very friendly
My god experience
My brother and I played August 28 and the greens were firm and had good speed. My only complaint was no water or drink cart on course and it was very hot They told us cart may have been finished but they didn’t let us know that there was no water on course so we could have bought some before else teed off. Golf was great except very hot
Great Course
Great course! Loved the lay out and course was in great condition. Greens were in great shape also!
Farmstead Golf
Played on a very hot day with my wife. We got to the course early hoping to get out sooner than our scheduled tee time. The staff was more than accommodating. Very nice staff, nice course and very good conditions. The course is well maintained. I will definitely come back again.
K C
Course was very wet. Balls plugged often. Cart path only. No beverage cart the entire back nine.
Always Good
I visit every summer and always work Farmstead into my list of courses. Great layout and always in good shape. Only knock is they send players off both tees so front nine is quick and then have to wait until everyone has started on the back to make the turn and it makes for a very slow back nine.
Course A+. Staff B-
The course Is a wonderful layout and was in was in truly spectacular condition from Teebox to fairways to the very well-maintained greens. Perfect course for my level of play, 14 handicapper . Challenging but not horribly tough. It’s also interesting in that it winds in and out of North and South Carolina. One amusing anecdote, I was hooked up with a twosome, very nice people, and they enjoyed a beer. First two times during the round they ordered a beer from the card guy, but the third time they requested they were refused because the hole we were playing was in South Carolina and apparently the course has a liquor license in North Carolina but not South Carolina ha ha. Want to clarify my lesser rating for the staff as They were friendly enough but honestly could use a little more training in customer service, examples as follows I was the first teetime of the morning so arrived with my bag , three guys talking at the starters hut , they said they’d put bag on a cart. I said OK, I than asked where to pay and also where the practice range was and was pointed in a general direction. I went into the pro shop to pay for the round, also bought a Gatorade with a cup of ice, came back to the starters hit , Same three guys were chatting away and my back was still there. I Asked again if I could put my bag on the cart as I now had a cup of ice and a drink in my hand, they pointed to the row of carts and told me to put my bag on the first cart . carried my own back to the cart, strapped it in to them and then headed to the practice range, no balls there I came back same three guys said yeah, you need to buy balls in the pro shop, a little annoying as I asked where the range was and had already been inside to pay for the round , So I Go back into the pro shop againa, purchased an empty bucket took it back to The starters hut where they fill the basket with balls and then informed me that I, I put my bag on the wrong cart and they change it over To a different card. I want to be clear here at no time with these guys ever rude or nasty, The opposite in fact they were friendly, honestly just inattentive and chatting with some selves rather paying attention to the customer. None of this would prevent me from highly recommending this golf course to friends or indeed playing again which I will definitely do next time I come back to the area, I’m writing these comments in the hope that it will be helpful to the management.
Love this cours
I play this course every year when I visit Myrtle Beach. It is in great condition and it is a fun challenge for golfers of all skill levels.
Great track
Farmstead was an absolute gem. Unfortunately, we played a couple days after the hurricane and the course was very wet but it was still in great shape. I was told by a bunch of locals that this is one of the better manicure courses in MB area and I can see why.
Very rude staff
-Can’t bring the water even 95 degree hot weather.
- you have to play quickly otherwise rude staff come and yell you.
-we started 7:30 am finished by 11:30 am, but they still come and yelled. They said that “it’s busy day, a lots of group have to play. lol
We felt like play soccer game instead lol
Never spend money over there.
Great round
We feed off early and was not disappointed. Friendly guys at the bag drop, friendly in the clubhouse. Conditions were great. The front 9 had a little more character than the back but overall loved our round.
