The tee shot on 14 at Meadowlands requires a golfer's sense of humor to navigate successfully. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 11/07/2018
Course info lacking
The course itself was in good shape and the layout is fine if you’ve played there before. For those of us playing the first time it was a constant unknown because the scorecard and tee signage were severely lacking in yardage information as far as water and other hazards that could not be seen from the tee. Lost 3 balls on dead straight drives that went into unseen hazards. More yardage information would be very helpful and make the experience more enjoyable.
Real nice course
Came from Chicago to play some golf one of the nicest courses check out replay with Farmstead
First Time Challenged
I played with 3 others all first timers and we agreed it is the type of course where some local knowledge would help a lot. Many dogleg holes where getting the yardages is imperative. Having said that, the conditions are great on the tees, fairways and greens. Traps were 'Covid" inconsistent. I would rate this course good but not great in this area relative to others.
Good start to a vacation
Course was great, layout was fun. They have five sets of tees which is nice so you can pick your level of difficulty. There is blind water on quite a few holes, so pick up a yardage book if you do not have a gps/sky caddie device. The water and doglegs force you to not hit driver on every hole which keeps the play fun and interesting. Greens have undulations and again for me kept things fun and interesting. The pace of play was excellent on a Tuesday. The course has its challenges but is really fair. I shot a 76 from the blues which is a good score for me on a first go around.
Only complaint was the starter wasn’t there at the bag drop or after we checked in. We got our bags out of the truck and onto the carts ourselves.
Minor issue... we cared much more about the golf and look forward to coming back next year!
Nice course, but fairway grass is too long, and I guess the grass on greens must be long also, because they are very slow. However, there is good grass everywhere. No major bald spots. Greens hold great.....mainly because they are slow. Played in 4 hours. Not complaining because four hours is good, but there was a foursome ahead of us that was scrambling and believe it or not, they were the slowest scramble group I’ve ever seen. Nice check in guy, and cart paths good. I’d say worth a hot deal price.
Great layout bunkers were poor due to heavy rains
The rain the night before made bunkers unplayable but course was in great shape it was cart path only due to heavy rains
2” of rain last night and course was good shape bunkers were very wet but was expected
Well taken care of
Nice course greens were in great shape
First-rate NC golf course
We enjoyed playing at Meadowlands very much. The course condition was excellent - especially considering that Spring growth hasn’t really begun yet. Beautiful scenes on most holes. Alligator hazards were clearly posted, though we didn’t see any that day. Plenty of water and fairway bunkers which can be reasonably avoided. This was our first round there and we were surprised by blind water features on several holes. Once you know the course layout, the hazards can be avoided. Staff were very friendly and helpful, carts worked fine. The greens were challenging with lots of uneven surfaces, but the green surfaces were in great shape. This was the third course we played in a week at Sunset Beach and it was the only one that had cart paths in very good condition.
