The tee shot on 14 at Meadowlands requires a golfer's sense of humor to navigate successfully. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 11/07/2018
Very Nice Staff and Course
Meadowlands is in very good condition and a great value. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are in good shape with the only negative there were some wet areas, and there were tire tracks on some of the approach areas to the greens? I don't know if that was caused by very inconsiderate players, or possibly by staff equipment? Play moved along nicely, even with some long par fours.
There is water in play mostly on the front 9, and then on the par 5 18th.
Best birdie opportunities are the par 5 4th, par 3 5th, and par 4 7th on the front.
Then there is a short par 3, 15th, and the two par 5's on the back 14 and 18. This course is worth the short drive from Myrtle Beach or from Wilmington area, and I think you'll return to play it again!
Played 4 courses in the Myrtle Beach area in the past week and a half. Meadowlands was the best conditioned by far. Staff was awesome. We had a great day.
Beautiful Day
The weather was perfect ( a little windy at times) The course was probably in the best condition of the year. Very few bare spots or rough tee areas. Greens were very good and rolled true. Nice mixture of holes, with water in play on half, and lateral water on others. Some forced carries on many holes, posing the decision to lay up or go for it. My only complaint was slow play in early afternoon. Saw a ranger twice on the front nine , but play came to a standstill on the back 9 and never saw a ranger. As we pulled up to the 18th tee, a 4some had just teed off and another 4some was waiting. Before we got the tee, another 4some was waiting behind us.
Must play!
Great layout, fairways in good shape, greens are good sized and in superb condition. Water in play on moat holes. Tremendous value!
Pace of Play
The pace of play today at Meadowlands was extremely poor and completely mismanaged. There was a group of seven that held everything up. I was always taught that no more than four to a group. We left on the thirteenth hole because at that point we were four hours into our round. The staff with the exception of one or two guys were extremely rude. This will be my last time playing this course. It’s really unfortunate because the course is in great shape.
Great course. Excellent shape
Course was in perfect shape. Great layout. Friendly staff. Couldn't beat it for the money. Only slight complaint I'd have is the pace of play. Moved right along on the front nine but when we got to ten a twosome came out of nowhere and hopped right on. Slowed the pace right down. Other than that amazing experience and would def be back to play again
Great Course
The course was in great shape and the greens were great. It was very fun to play.
Great Course
Beautiful course in immaculate condition. As for pace of play....my wife and I finished all 18 in less than 3.5 hours and the parking lot was packed when we teed off. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Will play this course many many more times.
great conditions
Fairways and greens were outstanding. I would highly recommend
Very Nice
Great course first time playing and would definitely play again
Nice condition but horrible pace of play
Course was in very good condition. Greens, fairways, and tee boxes all nice. There was a twosome ( 1 man & 1 woman) holding up the whole course. When we got to #7 there was 4 groups waiting on this twosome. I called the Pro Shop to ask if there was a ranger to help speed up pace of play and was told there was no one but would see if they could find someone to come out. No one ever came and we had to wait 10 to 15 minutes to hit a shot and played the last couple of holes as it was getting dark.
Great, Except...
Perfect day, excellent course, great staff. What more could you ask for? How about a reasonable time to play 18 holes? Not today!
Being a Myrtle Beach Area golf course, there's always a chance you'll get behind a group of golfers on a golf package. We did today. Slowed the pace of play down to a snail's pace. No way to play through 9 groups. Even stole my ball on 17. Nothing the ranger could do.
Still, Meadowlands is in great shape - the best I've ever seen it! Despite our slow play, I still recommend it.
Very nice course in great overall shape even with all the wet weather. Groups in front very slow then became a 6some sonehow for the last 4 holes which tooj over 115 to pkay. Otherwise a very challenging course.
Very Good Course at Excellent Price
The course is well maintained and challenging enough to give all handicaps a good test and a goodtime. The greens were fast and true. I would recommend this course over many of the overpriced courses in the area.
The day I played there had been alot of rain recently including the previous evening so there were some wet spots and carts were on path only. But the course had darined nicely and there were only a couple of spots that I had to move my ball to get a decent lie.
