The tee shot on 14 at Meadowlands requires a golfer's sense of humor to navigate successfully. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 11/07/2018
Good time ,could have been better
Meadowlands is a good value for the $ ........Fairways are nicely over seeded and well groomed. Bunkers were maintained and fair. The greens although beautiful to the eye were" molasses slow" perhaps they don't mow on Fri. Overall a good exoerience & we would play there again
1st time
Great course first time play was well worth playing will do it again staff very friendly
The grass is always greener
They had real green grass in the fairways, unlike some of the neighboring courses that paint their fairways.
The course is in good shape for this time of year, pace of play was fine 4 hours. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Winter Play
Course layout was good with many doglegs. Most greens protected by traps and water comes into play on a 3rd of the holes. Greens run quick and pin locations were mostly middle. The fairways were in good shape and the rough had normal winter dormant grass. Putting is the primary challange.
Slow time
The course is very nice. Many challenging holes with WATER. Unfortunately the time slots were not set up well & had long waits through out the 9 holes we played before we gave up & went home
Nice layout nice course
Course was extremely wet so much that it should have been closed but we found dry patches to hit from, green very nice overall pleasant experience couldn't beet the price $10 but under the conditions was understandable! Would love to play this place when dry beautiful layout.
Great course - will definitely play it again.
Had a good time playing this course.
It has a nice layout with a good mix of open rolling fairways, sand traps and water hazards. Some elevation changes are mixed in as well. As such, I'd describe it as more of a 'farm'' style course as opposed to a 'beach or marsh' style course.
The course was in good condition. I probably would have said great condition but the tee boxes and fairways were quite soggy due to the high amount of rain over the last few days. The rough was a bit high and the sand traps were hard packed due to rain as well. This made the course play long and generally more difficult. The large, undulating greens were in great shape - no pitch marks, rolled true and good consistent speed.
Despite being cart path only (again due to the rain), the pace of play was good. About 4 1/4 hours. Only had to wait on 2-3 approach shots.
Staff was very friendly.
PS. The area had 6-7 inches of rain over the last few days which is very unusual.. My guess is the course drains OK under normal conditions. Don't let the description above steer you away from visiting the Meadowlands.
Nice for the price
Play alot of courses first time playing this one, nice fairways, challenges, and greens. Great deal for the price. Will defiantly play again.
Day 3 2016 Myrtle Beach World Am
Played Meadowlands on the 3rd day of the Myrtle Beach World Am. I realize that Meadowlands and Farmstead (more or less next door) are same management but I have to ask...is Meadowlands the red-headed step child?
I see lots of good reviews and makes me wonder if I played the same course.
Plenty of grass on tee boxes, and fairways, except for the bare spots. Plenty of grass on the greens. Made me wonder if they have been cut in a week. Horribly slow greens. And the bunkers, they had not been groomed. Rock hard and full of pebbles/rocks. Just not my idea of tournament course conditions.
Still one of your better Northend choices
We all know there are plenty of golf choices all around Myrtle Beach and even though the choices lessen as you head north into N.Car. Meadowlands is still one of your better choices. This 27 hole track offers a large variety of layouts. Carts are very new and are in very good shape. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are all a cut above the surrounding Calabash courses. Staff in Pro shop very friendly, as is the starters booth and bag drop men. Always willing to help in getting you out early or playing your desired choice of 3 courses. Also good to know in this extreme heat they have cart circulating 3 course with 2 large water jugs and another with ice to keep you hydrated.
19thGreen
The course was in great shape and the wide fairways were an added bonus. Greens were quick but held a well placed shot. Water can come into play if you do not play smart. I would play this course again.
Nice Course
Course is in very good shape Tee to Green. A few thin spots on a couple of fairways & a couple of greens but nothing that should stop from playing here. Water on many holes so pay attention. Staff was very nice. We were backed up about 20 nins due to a quick rain shower but stilled played in 4hrs & 10mins with a slower group in front of our foursome.
enjoyable
Course was soft from previous rain but still enjoyable and very well manicured and with golfnow hot deal was a great experience. Will play again when I come back to area.
Worth seeking out
Meadowlands is not one of the highly advertised courses in the Myrtle Beach area, but is one of the nicer experiences. It has a variety of holes requiring different shots to play well. The greens were smooth and true with enough slopes and grain to challenge the putting. The people are just plain nice and friendly, not driven to force the most people possible onto the course. When visiting the area consider a visit to Meadowlands,
Very nice
Nice , wide open course in good condition
Very pleasant staff and great value
Great course to start the week
Birthday round
Nice course! Good condition and nice layout. Great for the price.
Meadowlands, Not a Good Golf Experience
Found this course on GolfNow, for a very good price per round, Meadowlands Golf Club, Calabash, NC. However the good deal ended when we started to play, greens were bare, course was not maintained well, will not be returning and do not recommend.
Course in perfect condition
The day we were supposed to play they had a kids tournament going on. We asked to play another day and they transferred our date with no problem. The course is beautiful, wide open and in wonderful condition. The staff was very nice and welcoming. We will definitely play there again.
Very nice little course
Enjoyed every minute of it.
This player is referring to Brunswick Plantation, Meadowlands is a 18 hole course, with green grass in the fairways not fresh paint.
