The tee shot on 14 at Meadowlands requires a golfer's sense of humor to navigate successfully. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 11/07/2018
Nice for the price
Play alot of courses first time playing this one, nice fairways, challenges, and greens. Great deal for the price. Will defiantly play again.
Day 3 2016 Myrtle Beach World Am
Played Meadowlands on the 3rd day of the Myrtle Beach World Am. I realize that Meadowlands and Farmstead (more or less next door) are same management but I have to ask...is Meadowlands the red-headed step child?
I see lots of good reviews and makes me wonder if I played the same course.
Plenty of grass on tee boxes, and fairways, except for the bare spots. Plenty of grass on the greens. Made me wonder if they have been cut in a week. Horribly slow greens. And the bunkers, they had not been groomed. Rock hard and full of pebbles/rocks. Just not my idea of tournament course conditions.
Still one of your better Northend choices
We all know there are plenty of golf choices all around Myrtle Beach and even though the choices lessen as you head north into N.Car. Meadowlands is still one of your better choices. This 27 hole track offers a large variety of layouts. Carts are very new and are in very good shape. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are all a cut above the surrounding Calabash courses. Staff in Pro shop very friendly, as is the starters booth and bag drop men. Always willing to help in getting you out early or playing your desired choice of 3 courses. Also good to know in this extreme heat they have cart circulating 3 course with 2 large water jugs and another with ice to keep you hydrated.
19thGreen
The course was in great shape and the wide fairways were an added bonus. Greens were quick but held a well placed shot. Water can come into play if you do not play smart. I would play this course again.
Nice Course
Course is in very good shape Tee to Green. A few thin spots on a couple of fairways & a couple of greens but nothing that should stop from playing here. Water on many holes so pay attention. Staff was very nice. We were backed up about 20 nins due to a quick rain shower but stilled played in 4hrs & 10mins with a slower group in front of our foursome.
enjoyable
Course was soft from previous rain but still enjoyable and very well manicured and with golfnow hot deal was a great experience. Will play again when I come back to area.
Worth seeking out
Meadowlands is not one of the highly advertised courses in the Myrtle Beach area, but is one of the nicer experiences. It has a variety of holes requiring different shots to play well. The greens were smooth and true with enough slopes and grain to challenge the putting. The people are just plain nice and friendly, not driven to force the most people possible onto the course. When visiting the area consider a visit to Meadowlands,
Very nice
Nice , wide open course in good condition
Very pleasant staff and great value
Great course to start the week
Birthday round
Nice course! Good condition and nice layout. Great for the price.
Meadowlands, Not a Good Golf Experience
Found this course on GolfNow, for a very good price per round, Meadowlands Golf Club, Calabash, NC. However the good deal ended when we started to play, greens were bare, course was not maintained well, will not be returning and do not recommend.
Course in perfect condition
The day we were supposed to play they had a kids tournament going on. We asked to play another day and they transferred our date with no problem. The course is beautiful, wide open and in wonderful condition. The staff was very nice and welcoming. We will definitely play there again.
Very nice little course
Enjoyed every minute of it.
great surprise
Recently move down here.Been here about a month. This is the best course I've played so far..... Would definitely play it again and recommend it to friends coming down from up north.
Great Course/Slow Men
Loved the course. Will definitely play again. Greens and fairways are in great shape. Pace of play was a bit slow. There are men that think they can hit the ball further than they actually can. They therefore wait until the group ahead completely leaves the green on par fours and fives before teeing off, holding up everyone behind them.
the course will suit the average golfer
I found the meadowland course very attractive with the water on several holes and good degree of difficulties. the price is a little high for the quality of the fairways.
Mellow Lands!
A little ways up from the central Strand but well worth the gas!
The course is a nice layout and was in Google condition when I played it. Arrived early in the p.m. And was allowed straight off as single! No hold ups until late in the back nine. Even so was round in less than 4 hours!!!
Greens were quick and true but watch out for the subtle burrows!
In all a great golfing experience and would recommend and repeat !
Good Starter Course
I played as a single. It had rained heavily the night before and the day I played was threating more rain. The course was wet and soft in spots, and it was cart paths only. The starter put me out early to beat the threat of rain. The greens were on the slow side. A nice track. Nothing spectacular here, but not bad. the neighboring course, Farmstead, is a more enjoyable experience.
Reminded me of home course
Interesting golf course located just off the main drag in Calabash. A lot of the holes reminded me of my home course back in New Jersey which was a pleasant surprise. Pace of play for 18 holes was pretty awful so I would advise going in the afternoon to avoid that problem all together. What I remember most about Meadowlands is how pleasant of an experience it was just looking at the course and foliage, picturesque. Maybe I am biased since I played the best round of my life here, but oh well. One thing that is EXTRMELY DISAPPOINTING is the "Foot Golf" course they have installed at Meadowlands. Maybe they are doing it to attract customers or something? I actually thought the guy inside was pulling our leg when he told us about this new activity and annoying imposition by soccer fans. Anyway, the GOLF part of the course is loads of fun. Go play Meadowlands and its sister course Farmstead which is around the corner. Both distinct from one another.
Dog legs and short par 5 holes.
Use your free yardage book. Visually the distance is much shorter than it looks. I average 275 with driver, and playing from whites found the course too short. I don't like being forced into placement shots and there seemed to be many. Through the fairway, through the fairway, into the pond...I didn't get smart until after a few holes and mostly left the driver in the bag. A good course and great value, just for me not as fun. I would rather have the green complexes be the scoring defense rather than the fairways.
If you're 275 off the tee what are doing playing off the whites. Come on pay attention to the course yardage!
Course is challenging with water carries.
Challenging golf course from blue tees. Not in the best shape compared to other two courses we played, but not bad for the middle of January.
This player is referring to Brunswick Plantation, Meadowlands is a 18 hole course, with green grass in the fairways not fresh paint.
