Love This Course.....but....
Lovely layout. Very picturesque golf holes, all different.
Side banks on many holes feed your ball back into the fairway. That is just great.
Most friendly staff....helpful, enthusiastic and willing to go the extra mile.
The greens were in great shape with a moderate pace.
Course conditions were not up to the standard of Bali Hai...rough is dormant, fairways are painted green and the fairways were not in the best conditions. Lots of divots and large dead areas that were covered with green sand.
Convenient
The course is fun to play. The pricing has gone up but the conditions have gone downhill. Was told Maintenance was being performed on bunkers and no overseeding this year.
My favorite course in Vegas...and I've played Shadow Creek...this is more fun.
Bali Hai is literally a less than 20 dollar ride from the Strip, and that's the worst part of your round. Bali Hai took me on as a single and paired me with a great twosome that was about my handicap level. I had already set up a caddy with Platinum Tees, but was offered an on course caddy on the spot. There was a lot of foot traffic around the course, but next to no slowdown all day. The sand traps were some of the best I've seen. Perfect and fluffy. Take a full swing and really go pin hunting. The course is playable, but has some teeth. Keep your tee shot straight and you'll be good to go. The cart team that comes around was on us nearly every third or fourth hole, so we were never wondering when we could get something to drink. The Par 3 bet they offer is a fun add on when you know you're already going to buy a shirt or 5 when you're there. The greens and pin placement will make you take a beat to get a feel, but once you do you should be able to see some real consistency.
If you are a small group or even a single, see if you can book Jamia from Platinum Tees. Bali Hai is a partner with them and it's great fun to have some smart and entertaining people when you're doing Vegas golf.
This is by far, my favorite course to play and the rates are really decent at some hours. And they will absolutely work to make sure you don't get stuck behind large groups IF they can...and they mean it.
Spectacular
I've been fortunate to play over 200 golf courses all over the world and Bali Hai ranks in the Top 5 all time. It was a fantastic overall experience with some of the most amazing views! We are putting this in our regular rotation while in Vegas!
Excellent service and conditions
Before I even got to the front door, I was separately welcomed by 2 friendly and upbeat staff members who helped me with my clubs. More friendly staff checked me in and a beautiful energetic young woman directed me to my cart after I could not resist a great jello shot after a delicious breakfast burrito! The golf course conditions were awesome and the rate was fantastic given the usual prices of over $200 for this Polynesian Paradise! The ease, convenience and location right on the strip saved me time and the money for transportation to other golf clubs far away from town. Anyone who misses the opportunity to experience this beautiful high-end golf experience for an affordable rate when in Las Vegas has made a mistake!
Not Good
This course has terrible conditions, the fairways are in poor shape. The greens are extremely bumpy. Not at all worth the price as well, I wouldn’t play it for 1/3 of the price. The only redeeming factor for me is the layout is nice, and staff are friendly.
Very cool course right on the strip
Really fun course and the staff were super friendly. My first time playing here. I am glad I played nine in the morning at another course to warmup, I hate hitting off mats, which is the option here. The mats were super hard. It works but not my preference. Practice green was in great shape and very true to the role on the course. Fairways were in good shape and greens were good. Everything was a little firm but not bad. Pace of play was slowish. The staff do a good job of getting large slow groups to move and even had them go back to the front nine to finish their rounds since they were slow. We started at 1:30 and just barely finished with enough light on 18 to see the ball roll in the final cup.
Fantastic Vegas Round
This course is exceptional and worth every dollar, especially when you get an 80 degree day in November. Staff was friendly, greens were perfect. Only downside is the airplane noise but you tune it out after a while and the enjoyment of the round overshadows it immensely. Plus, it keeps the price down. So close to the strip, make sure this one is on your list for your next Vegas trip. Liked it so much I came back the next day to go again.
Worse than Summer Conditions
I travel to Las Vegas often...I mostly golf in the summer because the prices are so reasonable. I have played most of the great tracks around the city besides Shadow Creek and Wynn as they are outrageously priced. Generally in the summer the rough is a little burnt but the fairways and greens still a lovely green at the premier course. I have played a few times in the fall at Pauite and Bears Best and both were in impeccable shape . I wrongly assumed for the $200 price tag this would be the case at Bali Hai. The course was in Muni course condition, at best. While the layout is somewhat interesting and there are some nice vistas of the strip and mountains the price doesn't come close to justify the conditions. On the plus side the staff are incredible...truly amazing. Whoever did the hiring and training here deserves a huge pat on the back. Every employee I encountered was wonderful. The location is of course very easy to access, especially if you are staying at the south end of the strip. It was a 10 minute walk from Mandalay Bay with no busy intersections to cross...you could even carry your clubs from hotel if you choose. The weather was impeccable and the staff really wowed me, this had the makings of a great day but the condition of the course was just such a let down.
A little disappointed
I have wanted to play the course forever. I finally got a chance today. I was very disappointed in the grass or lack there of in the fairways. In general the course was in rough condition. it was not worth the $200 I paid
Great vibe on the Strip
The staff at Bali Hai sure knows how to entertain and treat a guest. Golf needs more of this ... a fun, all-smiles vibe.
As a course, Bali Hai is solid most of the way through, the only hiccup being the final hole, which was designed as a par 5 but plays as an overly penal, long par 4 over water.
Most of the greens are either 1, elevated, or 2, guarded by water, so going low isn't easy. The wind tends to pick up in the afternoon, too, adding to the challenge.
I've never eaten in the clubhouse, but the Cili Restaurant has a good reputation.
If you don't have a rental car or clubs and can't afford the $550 at Wynn or $600 at Shadow Creek, Bali Hai is probably your best bet for a round if you're staying on the Strip.
Hey Jason, this is Mark from the pro shop at Bali Hai! I appreciate your comment and am really glad the vibe you experienced was fun and all smiles, because we really do try to make that the standard here. Unfortunately, 18 is an extremely tough hole for me too, but most golf holes are with my game. If you're back in town and want to take another crack at 18, I'll give you a great rate, and also make sure we keep the wind turned down. Give me a call on your next trip! 702-597-2400
Great Course on the Strip
Great desert course located right on the Strip. Course has a Caddie program, they are awesome and if you’ve not played golf with a caddie, take advantage o it while here. Greens were fast and true despite high level of play. Staff is exceptional.
Hey John! This is Mark from the pro shop at Bali Hai. I'm glad you had a great time with one of our caddies. They really do a great job of guiding you through the round and making it easier to navigate the course. If you're back in town soon, give me a call at 702-597-2400, and I'll give you a great rate.
Love BH!!! Must play in Vegas.
Played twice both time worth every penny! Played concord in the am and would rather pay a little more for a better course.
Mrjrjolly! Sol glad you had a good time at our course. This is Mark from the pro shop at Bali Hai and if you're ever in town again give me a call and I will make sure your rate is great so you can get 36 holes in here instead of playing at two courses. 702-597-2400
Wonderful Course and Staff!
I have played at this course a few times with a large group and it has always been a great experience. We come a couple of times a year and Bali Hai is always on this list due to its beautiful course at the end of the strip and the helpful staff. Whether you are a serious golfer or just out to have a good time, they have you covered. If you are in need of a pick me up, find “Larry” aka Monica as she has her world famous “Larry’s Lounge” mad grab one of her drinks.
Howdy! This is Mark from the shop at Bali Hai. I'm glad you had a good time in Larry's Lounge! It's becoming a hot spot in town and will be killer within the next year when the Raiders get here. If you guys are back in town soon give me a call and we'll make sure your rate is great and the Jell-O shots are ready to go!
702-597-2400
Hey there! This is Mark from the pro shop at Bali Hai. We're sorry the course didn't meet your expectations. We're in a little transition period right now to eliminate the overseed process to make our conditions better year round and in the long run. After the first year though, the course will look great! If you're back in town, give me a call at 702-597-2400.
