Amara Golf & Social Club

Brought my husband and a friend to play the course and was glad I did! We were told that the course will be closed for major renovations and plans to go private.

The course was in good condition for winter months. There were some greens that were patchy but didn’t affect play much. The fairways were fast and the ball would roll extra yards. We played on a Friday and Sunday and the weather was much better with no wind….compared to the days we played in August. Hopefully. We can play again before it closes in July.

For the price you would expect everything to be good. If you get in the bunker be prepared to get double penalty.

Looks like there’s sand, but no sir!! Straight concrete! Pace of play is slow too. You get a cart that constantly screams at you and no marshal out there to actually get thins moving. Outside staff as no personality, practice Matt’s are worn out and why would you want to chip/pitch balls off of mats? Overall, there are plenty of better courses in town to play for less money.

The Unique Experience is Exactly what we were after by Playing this course. It did not Disappoint....

Beautiful course! For The price of some courses in the LV area this is not horrible. A tad pricey for what I usually pay but it is a GEM of golf courses. I only wish I actually played better to enjoy it even more. Great landscapes, awesome course conditions just a spectacular course. It is going private sometime in 2025 i think so hurry up and get that round in!

Bears Best is a fun and challenging course for all skill levels. As often with Nicklaus designs, most holes have risk/reward opportunities Unfortunately for most of us, a group is taking it private next year.

Greens with a lot of divots. Slow pace of play. Some of the fairways in poor shape and near. No magnetic strip on golf cart

Considering the course conditions (dry and divot filed tee boxes, fairs were dry and not well maintained, greens were dry and unbelievably so many unrepaired ball marks) and the high price, I would prefer other golf courses such as Paiute or Arroyo or Siena. Very disappointed!

I read some reviews about how people thought this course was on the easier side… it’s not! I have about a 10-15 handicap and found this to be a bit tougher than I expected. Could have been because I was enjoying the epic scenery around us though. The Bunkers and Greens were beautiful but mostly well guarded and very slanted. Loved the challenge! Sad it’s going Private, but if you saw some of the houses (lol) they were building you’d know why. Strangely they close their kitchen before 2PM so don’t plan on getting anything there after the game. Get a chance to check it out before July 2025!

Not worth the $220 US for what you get. Much nicer courses for less in the area. Found out after that this course is going private, which makes sense because it appeared like they’re milking every dime out of it before the sale.

Portable toilets for restrooms? What a joke. Which I’m sure smelt better than the septic smell in the men’s washroom in the clubhouse. One set of toilets per 9 holes on the course isn’t enough. Had a female in one of our groups and she couldn’t play the last two holes on the front nine because she had no where to go.

Over priced food and beverage for what they had. Don’t have any to go items like sandwiches or hotdogs. Bring your own.

Course was in decent shape. Apparently raking sand traps is optional. Stay away from sprinkler heads around the tee boxes or greens as they’re filled with bees. Short grass around the greens was soaked.

Had much higher expectations based on the reviews on this site, the cost and that it was a Jack Nicklaus course. Played another Nicklaus course two days later for $75 cheaper and everything about it was far superior. Out of the 8 golfers in our two groups, not one person would pay more than $100 to play it again. Very disappointing.
