About
Legacy Golf Club sits on 28 acres of Dwight B. Heard's turn-of-the-20th-century ranch, home to 1902 silos that decorate the 18th fairway - once the tallest manmade things in Maricopa County. More history is on the first tee, in the Sierra Vista House which counts among its early-1900s visitors Theodore Roosevelt and Pancho Villa.
Gary Panks designed the golf course at the Legacy Golf Club, giving it lush fairways, strategic hazards and manicured greens to test all golfers. Native flora grows from the landscape, and the club's elevation offers a vista of Camelback Mountain, Squaw Peak and the skyline of Phoenix.

Not for those that play forward tees
Beautiful course for many golfers but unfair for those needing to play the forward (women, seniors, etc.) tees. The following is a quote from the USGA......."A forward tee distance that is closer to 4,000 yards than 5,000 yards is a better fit for far more players – including the average female golfer and many others with slower swing speeds." The so-called forward tees at the Legacy are 5471 yards and are labeled as 'Womens' Tees...anything other than some par 3's the greens can't be reached in 'regulation.' MOVE THEM UP!
Hard to find for the Price
This is the best kept secret in the Phoenix area. You could spend more money but you will not find a better kept course. Just stunning. Rough was not all desert. The greens held better than most. Loved this place. Cost a little more but if you want high class golf this is the place. Saff was helpful and friendly to a fault. Enjoy.

Great Day for Golf
Had an enjoyable day as the course conditions were great and the weather cooperated as well. A little breezy at times but not really a factor.
Great playing a course where the roughs and boundary areas were as well maintained as the fairways and greens.
Only issue was trying to get used to the golf carts since they are programmed to disengage when you got to close to a restricted area. Problem is that the restricted areas weren't really marked and several times we were unaware that we "entered" those areas while in the fairway and were still 20 yards from the cart markers and over 50 yards from the green.

A great option!
Fun layout, that can test long and short hitters alike. Course, especially the greens, was in great shape. Staff was very friendly. Pace of play was decent; took us about 4:15 to play 18. Would definitely play again.

Great Track
Fun course. Pristine course conditions. Challenging bunker placements. Easy to keep hydrated and well fed with a cart person we saw three times in 18 holes and a well appointed bar/clubhouse you pass at the turn. We will certainly be back again.

Good solid desert course
Legacy is not a five star course, but it is not priced like one either. It is a good solid desert course with a good layout and good pace of play (at least for us). It is not particularly easy, but what self-respecting masochistic golfer wants that anyway? Have fun.
