North Shore Golf Course
About
The 18-hole North Shore Golf Club in Orlando, Florida is a semi-private golf course that opened in 2001. The course slides around lakes and wetlands, and then detours through a grove of large ancient oak trees before re-emerging into the clear at the finish. It has two distinct nines converging to form one remarkable 18-hole layout. Begin your round on the Modern nine, winding through native wetlands and Florida's natural topography. The Classic nine is carved through a grove of 100-year old oak trees, creating an enjoyably unique setting for your finishing holes. North Shore Golf Club is located less than 10 minutes from Orlando International Airport and offers a complete practice facility and world-class instruction.

#13 fairway, long and wide. Ignore the brown grass in the foreground - the fairways are lush enough to hit fairway woods on the par 5s with ease. Photo submitted by Buckleahy on 02/23/2013

Over Priced, Poor Conditions
Was disappointed in the North Shore, as I assumed for the price it would be in much better condition. The tee boxes are run down and barren, the fairways are average at best, and the greens are in poor condition with dollar weeds throughout.
I say all this because the green fee, $80 in morning, $40 afternoon, is extremely high and I assumed the condition would be commensurate with the price. Instead, the course feels more like Wekiva or Casselberry, but at least they’re improving their course with upgrades.
Not worth it
Greens were decent, but very little grass in the fairways, tee boxes pretty ratty.
Good course, lousy conditions, hope they recover soon.
Staff for the course
The last 6 holes I had the ground keeper cutting the grass every hole I went. While shooting my drive he would keep cutting and wouldn’t move to the side, I want point he went over my fairway ball. By the last hole I told him if he would stop I I could do my shot. He put his hands up and kept cutting. Never again will I go to this nice course. No water in between the courses. The cart person, is very hard to play and 94 degree weather and not be able to get water until getting to the 10th hole.
Quick step backward!
I played the course about a month back and was impressed with what great shape it was in. The tee boxes were even and grown in, the fairways were in great shape, and the greens were firm and fast.
I was surprised when I played yesterday at how quickly the course had gone in the wrong direction. The tee boxes were primarily dirt and very uneven. The fairways were full of patches, and the greens were reminiscent of putting in shag carpeting.
Too Much $$$ for the condition
Layout is great, but this is NOT an $80 course. Tee boxes are beat, and fairways are thin. Greens were pretty decent, but there are many other courses in much better shape for less $$. Save the money until it improves.
What happened to North Shore?
Went and played here for Father’s Day with my son and my wife. I used to play here a lot in the 2000s and the 2010s. Not sure what has happened with management or Course care since the last time I played here about four years ago?? The tee boxes lack any grass in most if not all of them, the fairways resemble a pasture that has been somewhat mown, and even though the greens have actual grass on them, they were extremely slow & bumby. They had obviously been aerated over the last few weeks, not sure how often they get mowed, but they were dead, slow even downhill. Very disappointing. OK value for the price we paid but would definitely love to see it in top condition again.
Disappointed
Overall the course conditions were not that good for the value. Greens were good but tee boxes were very bad and fairways were very thin. I was very surprised at the conditions for what they were charging. Played Panther Lake at OCN this morning and there was no comparison and I paid much less at Panther Lake.
Good Course/Decent Shape
North Shore is a good course with a good layout. However, it is only in fair shape for this time of year and has many burned out areas. Their prices have also been quite high for this level of course and time of year.
I don’t know why - but you can no longer log your North Shore score on GHIN?!?! What’s up with that? Course doesn’t show up as an option any more.
Course difficulty
This course is very challenging. There are maybe 2 easy holes in this entire course. The best starting hole in all of Central Florida courses. Why? It's a short hole, but the rest are very challenging. Greens were in great shape. If I had to give on e negative aspect, it would be the tee boxes, but that is it.
