About
The 18-hole North Shore Golf Club in Orlando, Florida is a semi-private golf course that opened in 2001. The course slides around lakes and wetlands, and then detours through a grove of large ancient oak trees before re-emerging into the clear at the finish. It has two distinct nines converging to form one remarkable 18-hole layout. Begin your round on the Modern nine, winding through native wetlands and Florida's natural topography. The Classic nine is carved through a grove of 100-year old oak trees, creating an enjoyably unique setting for your finishing holes. North Shore Golf Club is located less than 10 minutes from Orlando International Airport and offers a complete practice facility and world-class instruction.

#13 fairway, long and wide. Ignore the brown grass in the foreground - the fairways are lush enough to hit fairway woods on the par 5s with ease. Photo submitted by Buckleahy on 02/23/2013

Golfer Reviews
Convenient Location, Good Course
This is a good course but happens to be very convenient for our group that live locally. Course conditions are better than recent reviews I have read. Greens don’t look great but putt true and at a good speed. Some tee boxes are very rough. Fairways are fine, not as nice looking as when the rye is there, but they are good. The two biggest issues are pace of play (no rangers to move groups that have 2 holes between them and the group ahead of them). No advance warning of locations in fairways that will lock up your cart due to low lying. This is crazy and not good heading into summer.
My favorite Course in Orlando
I think for the money this is the absolute best place to play
North Shore Golf Course
You need to drop your bags at the drop bag point, no golf cars in parking lot. We were assigned golf cars by number in the shop but some numbers were already used and gone. The restaurant was good for the drinks not so much for meals. The course itself is very challenging but is in good shape, the fairways are kept in good conditions as well as the tees. The greens were are also in excellent shape with the slopes and locations of flags holes in fair locations. Will definitely play again this course again. Ensure to bring few extra balls for some of the water holes available through the course
Great course
A beautiful and challenging course. The first 9 holes feel a lot like a links course, while the second 9 become more challenging because of the water hazards and old oak trees. Definitely highly recommended to play there.
Brutal
Brutal course. Charged $106 for the quality is madness. Poorly cut tee boxes and fairways in addition to diseased and slow/bumpy greens. Charging at least 2x and probably 3x what the place is worth to play.
In addition, very shady business practices here. If you book a tee time for a foursome be forewarned that you are responsible for everyone’s green fee if they do not show up. I booked a tee time for four people and we had one guy drop out last minute. I showed up and played with two others and found that I was doubled charged. When I tried to dispute this with the staff, they simply told me that it is their policy to do this and has been the case for 17 years. They offered me a rain, which I had no interest in because I wouldn’t play this course again if they offered to pay me. Ridiculous. Never seen something like this in 15+ years of active golf.
Here comes the summer burnt grass….
Course was beautiful since November due to rye grass filling in the patches. Bad news is the rye grass is leaving and it’s drying out quick and greens are starting to show fungus. Great news is the prices reflect that aspect.
Staff has really improved through the years, Traeson, Dan and the cart/bar girls are always super friendly.
As far as pace, there was a 3some holding up the entire afternoon group. We teed off 4 holes behind them but somehow caught them on 7 and waited on every shot from that point. They were arguing after the round so they must have been playing for money. Took our 3 some 4 hours to play and without them, we could have been done in 3.
Getting better
It’s been a few years since I played here but was not happy back then with conditions.
Played a week ago and was so impressed with the improvements.
Played yesterday and the same thing they are working to make it better.
Good greens good fairways good tees.
Hats off to the grounds staff!
Favorite course!!!
I’ve played golf at most of the courses in the Orlando area, this course is by far my favorite. The staff is fantastic - clubhouse/pro shop is always clean. The breakfast sandwiches are always fresh and the cart girls are always accommodating and friendly! I’d rate it higher if I could!
Great course in lovely condition
Always love to play here. Warm welcome, great people. Course in great shape. Greens true. We just got stuck behind a slow four ball that held us up. Pity as otherwise a brilliant occasion.
Golf course
I didn’t care much for them watering the golf course while playing golf. Some of the fairways were very muddy due to over watering. They should wait till golf course close. I understand it was very hot, but should’ve waited. Thanks!
One of the best tracks around
Thought we had first tee, ended up playing through a group ahead of us, as their pace was very slow. Each guy hit about 4 off the first tee, an hour in, only 5 hole completed. One we passed them, we were done rather quickly.
Fairways were soft, greens great condition, minus a few patches here and there, to be expected w drought conditions.
They have really opened the course up and made the hazards a bit more manageable. The course is very well kept and it shows. Rates for residents are always impacted by peak season, however, this is affordable and well worth it. $79 is way more attractive than $150 at courses that aren't as nice.
Will be back again and again
A day at The North Shore
A nice day, the course was in great shape, greens were manageably fast, and the pace of play was excellent.
North Shore Golf
Course was in pretty good condition. The greens were LIGHTNING fast. It took about 3 holes to get used to the speed. I played as a single on a Thurs, if not for a twosome ( that struggled to hit it straight) that didnt seem interested in letting me play thru, I would have played in less than 3 hours.
