North Shore Golf Course
About
The 18-hole North Shore Golf Club in Orlando, Florida is a semi-private golf course that opened in 2001. The course slides around lakes and wetlands, and then detours through a grove of large ancient oak trees before re-emerging into the clear at the finish. It has two distinct nines converging to form one remarkable 18-hole layout. Begin your round on the Modern nine, winding through native wetlands and Florida's natural topography. The Classic nine is carved through a grove of 100-year old oak trees, creating an enjoyably unique setting for your finishing holes. North Shore Golf Club is located less than 10 minutes from Orlando International Airport and offers a complete practice facility and world-class instruction.

#13 fairway, long and wide. Ignore the brown grass in the foreground - the fairways are lush enough to hit fairway woods on the par 5s with ease. Photo submitted by Buckleahy on 02/23/2013

Beware the "Pots and Pans" division
Fun course. I'm a regular. Went as a single. Got paired with a 15 handicap and two guys from the "pots and pans" division. No headcovers, and multiple mulligans off the 1st tee, weren't gonna break 120. We got to the 2nd tee and the group ahead of us had already left the 3rd tee...so we ditched the two "clangers" and played by ourselves. Never saw them again after the 3rd/4th hole. I get pairing folks up to make foursomes, but try to account for skill level. Great staff, course was in good shape... greens have made a nice comeback, except for the spray painted 6th green.
Almost good
Have played North Shore before, but for 75 a round at this moment it is no where near worth that.
Staff was inviting & beverage cart comes out early
Only solid part of the course were the fairways.. tee boxes and greens and bunkers were horrendous
In the past it was well kept and the price reflected that, but not this time around.
Downhill!
Not what it was a a couple of years ago. All greens have huge patches around them. Tee boxes are overgrown, tee markers are in wrong locations. Yesterday was my last round here. Great staff but no maintenance workers handling all of the issues. Would cost a MILLION dollars to get it back to decent.
Needs work
All of the fairways, especially leading up to the greens where you hit more iron shots, are dry and hard pack. Greens are under repair and in general the course needs a lot of work and a lot of water. The worst condition that I have seen there. I have played this course many times. They need to do a better job!
Excellent layout... Needs some attention
I loved the layout and this course has so much potential. I know this past summer was very hot. Hopefully they can get some seed in the bare spots and bring this course back to life. The grounds crew should be taught to turn the tee marks so you can see the color from the cart path. I took it upon my to do it for the next golfers behind us.
Terrible Shape
I have played here many times. I called before booking Tee Time and asked the condition of the course. I spoke to the proshop. The person I spoke to said the course was in nice shape and the conditions were very good. I arrived and the course was far from in good shape. The practice facility had zero grass. We were hitting off of dirt. The tee boxes had zero grass, again hitting off of dirt and uneven and in horrible shape. The fairways had zero grass. The course condition was an absolute disgrace and when calling should have been notified of the conditions. I went into pro shop at conclusion and told the person in the proshop how bad it was and there was virtually no response. If you are playing golf in the area I would avoid this course as the conditions are beyond bad. I play in the area all of the time and this happens to be a very nice course but given the conditions I would steer clear.
Nice layout but needing some work
I have played this course at least 40 times in the last 8 years and the condition was just simply not up the normal level. Needless to say I like the course, I like the layout, the staff is always pleasant, and the pace of play is usually pretty good. However, the condition is slipping. A few of the tee boxes probably are due to be rebuilt and 4 of the greens were in poor shape, (looks like they had a fungus issue). I did enjoy my round but for the $75 I payed to play, honestly due to the conditions it should not be more than $50 - $40. I will play here again but if the condition slips any further I likely wont return.
Would have been nice if they had grass.
It was fine but I expected more. My dad came with and made the comment I titled this.
Highly Recommend
Really nice course tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood easily accessible from the expressway(s). Greens are rolling beautifully and the course is an interesting mix of easy-moderate-difficult holes. Highly recommend.
Bad conditions
Due to rain the course was soaked and the price was to high for the conditions of the course
