Great Staff/Nice Course
Always a nice round here. As with many courses this time of year, it was recently aerated so the putting was a bit challenging but all in all an extremely enjoyable round of golf.
Fun Yet Challenging
We always enjoy playing this course. The staff is fantastic, and the course was in very good condition. For a Saturday afternoon the pace was much better than expected. All in all, a great day of golf.
Forest Greens
I love the course layout. The grass is in good shape but after spending big bucks to redo the sand traps, they have not kept them up like they should. Not a fan of their $62 rack rate, but better deals can be found.
A Great Challenge
The course was in very good shape, especially for August. It was great to play a course where you could hit out of the soft sand and not worry about rocks ruining your wedge. There are a decent number of traps and if you don’t keep your ball in the fairway, you will be punished! I enjoyed the challenging layout, even though it negatively affected my score. Ha! The starter let us tee off early, allowing my husband and I play as a twosome since they had a cancellation. We really appreciated this, as we could play music while we played and enjoy time together.

Great day of golf started with friendly staff and perfect weather. Course was in good shape from T boxes to the Greens I definitely will be playing here again
Good greens, meh fairways
The greens were in very good condition. Fairly fast and firm but would still hold a good approach. The fairways at FG are always late coming in due to the bermuda grass but they really haven't filled in well this year. I had a number of sketchy lies in the fairway. Rough was not too penal. The bunkers now have nice, soft white sand in them which is great. The problem is players not even attempting to rake them...not the courses fault. Come on people, we're better than that! I'll def play Forest Greens again.
Familiar Course is always Pretty Good
Course gets lots of play and it shows as many neglect raking bunkers and repairing ball marks and divots (typical of public golf in the DC area). They've removed water coolers from the course (due to reasons). Range balls were in good condition, hitting mats not so much.
Quality greens but terrible rough and fairways
Overall a decent track for the money. The greens ran true and smooth. Fairways and rough seemed to be patchy and a bit burnt.
Great early Sunday walk
FG is my go to course for an early morning weekend round as they let me walk every time without question.
This course has a lot of variety of holes
I’ve always liked the course layout, with a lot of elevation changes and doglegs. The greens are in very good shape. Fairways are Bermuda grass, and a little spotty on several holes, especially #17. Bunkers are decent. Pace of play was good also. Overall, it was a very nice afternoon of golf.
