Tiger's Eye Golf Links at Ocean Ridge Plantation

Our same foursome played Tiger's Eye shortly after it opened about 16 years ago. At that time, the course was in excellent shape and we enjoyed it immensely. We decided to revisit it again and what a disappointment it was.. Although the Staff was friendly, the greens were simply awful, with bare spots and poa annua infestations throughout. Additionally, the course was rough around the edges, with weeds growing everywhere. I played and scored fairly well despite the conditions; but I'd be lying if I said that we weren't very disappointed. It seems that the course has been either horribly neglected or grossly mis-managed.

Course conditions improved from what I had heard they had been in recent years, so kudos to the management and crews to bringing the course back. Greens rolled fast but weed intrusions and rough spots in places still need some attention. Fairways are growing in and greening up, too. Absolutely beautiful layout and I definitely want to and will be playing again.

I almost canceled my tee time after reading some of the reviews. Glad I did not, Tiger’s Eye is a great layout amongst beautiful tall sand pines. Really solid golf holes. Very peaceful, not a lot of houses…fun layout with opportunity to score, or shoot a high number from correct tee boxes.

Conditions: Tiger’s Eye 4.4.23…had quality tee boxes, fairways, rough and bunkers…very fun to hit full shots, chips and pitches off the turf. The greens are not pristine…they are spotty in places but roll pretty good overall. Good strokes were fairly rewarded. No problems judging speeds. Couple of bald spots here and there, just move the ball no closer to the hole if you need a true roll on a money putt. No reason to pass up a deal time at Tiger’s Eye.

Ocean Ridge Plantation has always been a must play over the years. During COVID it was in bad shape, all 4 courses, with that said I have seen an improvement in Tigers Eye & Lions Paw. It is coming along to somewhat back to what I have experienced over the years. Greens were fast, fairways were getting back to where they used to be. Tee Boxes we’re good.

Beautiful Course

Greens rolled great, little spots of crab grass and burning’s from the sun but the maintenance team does a great job of keeping the pin away from those areas. I loved the layout, definitely will be back on my next golf trip.

This used to be a course that was always in superb condition. Was sorely disappointed !Does anyone work on the course to maintain it? The greens were an absolute mess! Save your money and go elsewhere!

I came back to play this course that I played a couple of years ago and it and lost most of its charm.

Cart paths were broken in many places leaving big steps and holes. Greens were the worst ones I played over the week with patchy co dictions that don’t keep ball line. Much of the dough was just dirt with no grass.

This is a beautiful golf course and it would be hard to find a more welcoming, friendly staff. I plan on playing it again. Conditions were very nice tee to green. Some traps need attention. Very good assortment of tees. The forward tees are very inviting to weaker players at 4500+ yards. Whites were perfect for me at 6100+. Big gap between white and gold (5100+). Perhaps a hybrid choice between white and gold would work.

This is one of the best courses in the area. Staff was super, pace was great. Not super long but a lot of target golf. Fun.

The course itself was in great shape. Challenging for a 12 hcp'er like myself. May go back and play again before we go home.
