Tiger's Eye Golf Links at Ocean Ridge Plantation

Tiger's Eye is one of my favorite Myrtle Beach layouts. I have never had an issue with the course conditioning until this year. Many areas of the course were burned out, but the greens were in the worst condition ever. The ball was bouncing all over the green and did not roll true.

Upon arrival at the check in I asked for practice balls and my cart. The man told me I could just carry my clubs 200 yards to the range and back and get my cart later. What kind of customer service is this with 90% humidity outside? The back nine was nothing but dead grass and dirt spots in the fairways and on the greens. They closed down everything early without telling the customers removing access to drinks and restrooms. During the hottest part of the day we were without anything to drink for nine holes.

This is a great layout. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I love playing this course.

The course had a great layout, but it needed work. In my opinion, they have let conditions slip.

Drove 2 hours to play this course based on photos and reviews. While the course was overall a 4/5 for condition, it did not wow me as expected. Every staff member we contacted was amazing to deal with, friendly and as accommodating as can be. My review is honestly based on expectations being a bit too high most likely.

Great greens and fairways a bit dry but not too bad. They need some rain since they have been in drought conditions. I heard that Tigers Eye is in the best condition of the Big Cat courses.

Love the Cat courses and especially Tigers Eye, BUT apparently the owners are in a divorce conflict or they lost the irrigation system as the course is in terrible condition. Greens, fairways, rough sand traps all need work. Courses should be avoided until they figure it out. Premier layout and views … so sad they left it go so far downhill. Tons of cranky old men on staff that stand around talking to each other and making comments about golfers.

The course was beat up and the lady in the clubhouse was rude. Of all the courses in the Myrtle Beach area I chose the wrong one !! Never going back.

One would think that during a popular time of the year the greens would be inperfect shape but sadly, we played on rough greens with sprouted grass spots everywhere! Not what we expected in such a competitive golf area.

Played this course this morning for the first time and lived it. We were first out and the maintenance team was courtesy and friendly staying away from us on every hole. Would highly recommend it for the layout to the staff all went above and beyond to take care of us.

We drove 30 minute to play this course we never played before. The traffic was so bad we arrived 3 minutes AFTER our tee time of 1 PM. The man signing us in told me to see the starter. The starter said we had to let a group of 20 golfers play ahead of us who were to tee off at 1:06 but could not wait a few minutes for us three some to either skip a hole or play ahead of the group. We drove to the first tee and were told that some of the group was going to the 4th hole. Now how could anyone play 2 or 3 holes in 10 minutes if they started at 1 pm? We normally play 18 holes in 3.5 hours if not waiting on every hole. It took us 4.5 hours. I was 4 over on the front 9 and 1 over on the back 9 going to hole #18 which I tripled, the other 2 in my group parred that hole. My son-in-law said it was the best course he had played so far this week. He shot 80 as well and we had played 5X this week. Lots of water and a beautiful course. Need signs to know where to go for each of the 3 courses to the #1 hole. We followed a cart who ended up going home instead of Hole #1. The ranger was excellent, He came by several times during the round, but could not do a thing due to breaking the 20 golfers in a tournament. The greens were a nice speed and did not have an issue with the little weeds here and there for the price of $65 we paid this time of year at Myrtle Beach. I would like to play this course again since it is the course that is most important and not the starter's bad manners to letting 20 golfers play a COUPLE MINUTES LATER than their tee time. NOT NICE!

Very friendly staff and easy check in. Practice facilities not great but adequate. We completed our round in under 4 hours with minimal wait times. From the blue tees, the course was very challenging and scenic.. Fairways had many bare spots but should improve with warmer weather. Except for a few patches of poa annua in some areas, the greens putted fast and true. I recommend this course to anyone. Did I mention that the staff was very friendly.

We really enjoyed playing this course and look forward to playing again. The design was very good and overall well kept.

Great layout, but a little rough at some spots. Would be top notch if they were ever able to get conditions back.

Greens were patchy but rolled true.
