Tiger's Eye is a Gem
This is a great layout. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I love playing this course.
Tigers Eye review
Not a bad layout. Several fun and interesting holes. The issue was the lack of effort put into the course conditions. Played on a Saturday. We were told by the cart guy that the greens were cut pretty fast earlier in the week but now they’re slow. He was right. Absolutely the slowest greens I’ve ever putted on. Shame of it is, they were thick and full. There was no reason not to cut them. Incredibly slow! Also every part of the course was receiving zero attention. Bunkers untouched. Fringes has three different grasses growing out of the. Fairways and tee box grasses mostly sucked. They must not have any kind of budget and probably short of staff. There was no effort to make it nice what so ever. Felt like we should get half our money back.
Such a Shame
I remember when this course was built and was truly premium. It had fallen off over the years, but seemed to be doing better the last two years. We therefore looked forward to playing it again this year as it is one of our favorites, but we were severely disappointed. The fairways were long like a first cut of rough and in many places filled with crabgrass. The rough was all crabgrass. Tee boxes were also shaggy and lots of crabgrass. The greens were in good shape however and putted true, and the sand traps were in good shape especially compared to conditions a few years ago. Even though I love the layout of this course and playing it each year I cannot recommend it in the current condition. Especially when management charges premium rates but does not keep up it's investment. Time to do a total refurb of the fairways

Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Tiger's Eye. We truly appreciate your patronage and your feedback. We agree, the greens are looking good and rolling very well and we have definitely spent a lot of time and money on the bunkers, which are much improved. We did experience an issue with our pre-emergent that led to a breakthrough of Crabgrass, but it is being treated aggressively and we are looking at a new pre-emergent program for next year that we expect to work much better. We certainly apologize that the course was not freshly mowed on the day you played. Our crew works hard to keep all four Big Cats courses mowed out as frequently as possible, but on any given day, (especailly a Sunday) if you happen to play the course that was mowed most previously, then the height of cut can be less than ideal on that day. I can almost guarantee the course you played was mowed out the next day, which I know does not help your situation. Again, we apologize for this and we will work hard to try to improve our operation in this regard. We have made great strides with the conditioning of all four Big Cats over the past couple of years and we sincerely hope you will visit us again and see our continued progress.
Tigers eye
Great course . Played several times . The bunkers just need a deeper sand base and that would be great !

Golf
The course needs work, the layout is great, the weeds and tee boxes are not!!

Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Tiger's Eye. We truly appreciate your patronage and your feedback.
Due to the extremely heavy rain over the last several weeks, course conditions are not at their very best right now, but we are working hard daily to make sure Tiger's Eye and all the Big Cats courses are in excellent condition as we move into the fall golf season and beyond. We hope you will visit us again soon, and see our continued progress.
The Cat Courses
I played 3 out of the 4 cat courses Leopards Chase was in the best condition also the most challenging you definitely need to be hitting them straight. Tigers Eye was in good condition for the most part. Lots of bunker trouble on this one. Few of the greens were in need of repair. Overall nice course. Lions Paw was in the worst condition that one needs attention all around but, especially the greens. I hope they can get them all in the same condition as Leopards Chase. That would make for a nice few days of play. I will definitely try and play them all again the next time I’m in Myrtle Beach.

Thank you for the nice 4 Star review of Tiger's Eye. We truly appreciate your patronage and feedback. It appears you
actually reviewed three different Big Cat Courses here, on the Tiger's Eye page.
We are definitely working very hard on all four of our courses and we fully expect them to all be in excellent condition as we move through the remainder of 2025 and beyond. We hope you will visit us again soon and see our continued progress.
Thanks again!
Lost potential
The course is a good layout. The trouble today was the greens are extremely spongy and slow. They’re not poorly maintained. They just need to be cut. Tea boxes were very high and sloppy. I played this course many years ago and it was a completely different experience. The staff were very friendly. Beverage cart was cash only which was a minus. Overall, I would wait to come back here until I hear conditions have vastly improved.
Visiting Oak Island
I travel to Oak Island each summer with my family and my best friend’s family. We always try to get 2-3 rounds in while we are there. We have played Carolina National a few times (Freddy Special is amazing…definitely check it out), but we’re looking to play a new course.
We were a bit apprehensive to drive to Ocean Ridge Plantation as is was about a 40-min drive, but we got a great deal to play Tiger’s Eye so we jumped on it. I couldn’t be happier with our decision to go.
We couldn’t decide which of the four Cat Courses to play as we only had time for 18 holes, so we will definitely be back as I really want to try Leopard’s Chase as well.
We were the first tee time of the day. We were met with a friendly staff member who unloaded our bags and got them setup on our cart while we checked in at the pro shop.
The course was in great condition, and overall, it was just a fantastic day of golf on a beautiful course. Next time we go back, we will play 36 holes.
Tigers Paw 7/21
Great early round at Tigers Paw. Teed off at 7:09 as the second tee time and finished at 11. Had to wait just a minute on the back as we turned due to sending off both sides in the morning.
Great staff from the minute you drive up with bag drop being the friendliest in Myrtle Beach. Excellent restrooms, water, and ice on the course as we were playing.
Golf-wise wise very nice conditions. There were a few poorly mown areas, including #1 fairway and a few greens/teeboxes, but otherwise Perfect condtions. The greens were a tad slower than normal here, but they were fairly well taken care of.
HIGHLY recommend Tigers Paw

Thank you for the very nice Four Star review of Tiger's Eye Golf Links. We truly appreciate your patronage and your feedback. Be sure to check out the other three Big Cats courses as well.. Thanks again!
Beach Golf - Sunset Beach, SC Area
Ocean Riidge Cats courses are making a comeback. Tigers eye is ahead of the pack and looking good. Greens are in great condition but a little slower than previous years with different gras grass.

Thank you for the very nice Four Star review of Tiger's Eye. We truly appreciate it. Yes, we are working hard on all of The Big Cats courses and they are looking stronger every day. We hope you will visit us again and see our continued progress. Thanks again.
Needs an Investment
I have played this course previously. In the last couple of years this course has gone downhill. Tigers Eye use to be one of Oceanridges premium courses. Not so much anymore. Put some money into your courses .

Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Tiger's Eye. We truly appreciate your patronage and your feedback. We are sorry we fell short of your expectations on this visit. We are working hard daily on all of the The Big Cats courses and we expect them all to be in very good condition as we move through the remainder of 2025 and beyond. We hope you will visit us again and see our continued progress. Thanks again.
Big Cats
Staff was great, met me at bag drop super nice. Susan inside was great. Just can't say enough about how nice they were in comparison to Lions/Panthers Clubhouse. Play Tigers stay away from Lions/Panthers. Tigers course way better, greens actually playable. Layout is fun, memorable holes. My only memory of Panthers is greens were slow like take your driver to putt slow.
Needs to Improve
This course could be so great. The course conditions have not improved in more than a year. The rough area , the fairway traps look like no one cares. They seem to be trying to do something with the tee boxes but it’s not working. With support from ownership they could become a top course as the layout is nice.
The greens were very slow but they were punched 10 days ago.
Players could help conditions if the filled divots and fixed greens. But the course doesn’t make you feel like you should.

Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Tiger's Eye. We apologize you did not catch us at our best, but we had recently aerated the greens, tees and fairways and the course was still healing up. Fortunately all of the work is paying off, as conditions have already improved considerably and will only get better daily now that the transition period is over. We hope you will visit us again and see our continued progress. Thanks again!

Thank you for the awesome Five Star review of Tiger's Eye! We truly appreciate your patronage and your feedback. Be sure to visit the other three Big Cats courses as well. Thanks again!
Nice Track
I’ve played here many times and continue to return. This time the greens were not very good which was disappointing. I understand that the weather may play a role in this but I’ve played other area courses where the greens rolled much better. I’ll return for sure because I enjoy the staff as well as the course. If greens are not much improved I will then decide if this course moves down the list of favorites
