Leopards chase “Not”
I ‘m not sure what was worse: course condition, pace of play or “lack” of value. Course should be closed until greens recover and tee boxes and fairways grow in. Worse condition course in MB. No warning from staff that course was in that bad of condition. Don’t play this course!
Dry course
Played front 9 holes All the Greens have some form of fungus, fairways dry and spotty.. Course has great potential if cared for. NEEDS TLC AND FAIRWAYS NEED irrigation
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Leopard's Chase. You are correct that conditions have been very dry over the last several weeks, but you are also playing in the transition period from winter rye grass to warm weather bermuda on the fairways and tees. The winter rye has been sprayed out to speed along the transition process, causing the course to be off color for a week or so but it will hen begin to quickly green up again as we move into the warmer season. We hope you will visit us again to see our continued progress.
beach course
if you like sand traps this will be heaven for you. only problem is getting out of them is going to take a different tech. they are hard and has no sand in places. I was in at least 25 traps for the round and I have never had that much trouble getting out of them This is a beautiful golf course. waterfalls on 18 was very cool. but this is for experienced golfer. Maybe even a pro. I have played my whole life and it kicked my rearend. so enjoy and do not throw clubs into the many water ways.
Thank you for the nice Five Star review of Leopard's Chase! We truly appreciate you patronage. Be sure to visit the other Three Big Cats courses as well! Thanks again.
Avoid at all cost
This course is terrible, terrible, terrible. AVOID at all cost. Greens have burnt patches, bunkers are hard as a rock, tee boxes are brown and with crabgrass. Locals don't even play here. Waste of money.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Leopard's Chase. We sincerely apologize we were unable to meet your expectations on your recent visit. Some of the greens are definitely still recovering from some previous issues, but they are much improved and getting better daily. As you can see here on Golf Advisor, four of the last six reviews have been Five Stars and the other was a three star review. Hopefully you made your concerns known to the folks in our pro shop as they will always work with any of our guests to make sure you are satisfied with your golfing experience at any of The Big Cats courses. If that is not the case, please contact me at blong@oceanridge.com and I would love the opportunity to work with you to find a resolution to your concerns. Thank you and again, we apologize we fell short of your expectations, but we would love the opportunity to make it up to you.
Conflicted
I am always conflicted on the Ocean Ridge/Big Cats courses.
These are championship level courses. But the greens are in real bad shape. Like bare spt bad. They say its winter rot, its not. Its bad and they don't even look like they are trying to fix it. That's what bothers me. Seed, cover with a tarp, work on it.
The tee boxes were better this time I will say that. The fairways were green but they had a lot of weeds.
Great course, great staff
I went out as a solo on 4/13/2022 and had a fantastic time. The guys in the clubhouse and the cart attendant were super friendly and helpful. This is my favorite of the "Big Cat" course. The 18th hole is awesome.
Thank you very much for the great Five Star review of Leopard's Chase! We agree, it is an amazing layout and the condition of the few weak spots that had lingered on some of the greens has improved dramatically in recent weeks, with the warmer weather. We are excited to see this amazing course in great condition for our guests as we move forward through 2022 and beyond.
Decent - but there are better options in April
The course was decent, but the greens haven’t grown in just yet. The greens were not in great shape. I cannot recommend this course in April because there are better options (Tiger’s Eye) for the same price.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Leopard's Chase. We appreciate the feedback. The heat sensitive bentgrass greens did take a hit last fall, leaving several weak spots on the perimeter of a few greens. Fortunately they are improving daily and actually have improved dramatically in the past couple of weeks alone. The few remaining weak spots will be completely covered very soon. We hope you will come check out our continued improvement.
Thank you very much for the great Five Star review of Leopard's Chase. We agree, it is a fun and scenic course to play. Be sure to check out the other three Big cats courses as well. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for the wonderful Five Star review of Leopard's Chase. We really appreciate it and we hope you will come visit us again soon!
Thank you very much for the nice Four Star review of Leopard's Chase. We truly appreciate your patronage and we hope you will visit us again soon. Be sure to check out the other three Big Cats courses as well. Thanks again.
It was ok
Google maps does take you to the right location. First time golfing this year so ok. Greens were terrible but they tell you that. We got in last minute so we’re happy to golf. Would have loved to go in for a beer after but closed.
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Leopard's Chase. The greens do still have some weak spots in certain areas, but they are improving rapidly now and we expect them to be 100% recovered very soon. We hope you will come back soon and be sure to check out the other three Big Cats courses as well.
Played this course with my wife. We both enjoyed the layout. There was some winter kill on the greens but they placed the pins to avoid having to putt through it. The staff were extremely friendly. We both will play here again.
Thank you for the very nice Four Star Review of Leopard's Chase! We truly appreciate it. The weak areas on some of greens are getting much better now and should be completely healed up very soon. We hope you will come visit us again soon and see our continued progress!
Another great day at Leopard’s chase
Got there around 1 and the starter suggested i go off the back 9 since several groups just went off the front. So glad he recommended it and I played 18 in under 3 hours. All the staff was wonderful and great layout. Greens still need some work.
Sandi
We enjoyed playing the front 9. Have not played golf in a while and surprised myself in my score. Enjoyed!!
Thank you fro the nice Four Star review of Leopard's Chase! We are so glad you enjoyed your round and shot a good score. We hope you will visit us again soon!
Thank you very much for the great Five Star review of Leopard's Chase. We really appreciate your patronage and we want you to know we are working hard every day to make sure all four Big Cats courses are in great condition for our guests. We hope you will come visit us again soon!
Challenging day
With 15-20 mph winds, the course was even more challenging than we recalled. Love the layout and the homes on the course. We were warned that a few of the greens were spotty and that's true. The pins were in positions where the greens were in solid shape, so it really had little if any impact. Overall course was in good condition and we look forward to our next visit.
Thank you very much for the nice Four Star review of Leopard's Chase. Wow, I'm sure 20 mph winds did make it a challenging round! But we are very glad to hear you enjoyed the day despite Mother Nature's intrusion. With spring finally here, course conditions will be getting even better daily and we are looking forward to a great 2022 and beyond. We hope you will visit us again soon and see our continued progress!
Beautiful course, not to accommodating though
Had a 1:30 tee time and when we made the turn at about 3:00 the clubhouse and snack area was locked up. We had a code for the restrooms, but the code evidently was just for the front nine restrooms because it did not work on the back. There were no other restrooms or vending machines on course.
We were one of the last tee times for the day so you would think that they would wait to lock up until we make the turn or at least inform us that they would be closed by the time we came around.
Very disappointing to say the least.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Leopard's Chase. Not to excuse your particular experience at all, but we have had some unexpected personal issues with two of our main snack bar employees, which have required them to miss some work recently. I'm certain this contributed to your experience this past week. The clubhouse, however, would typically have been open much later than you indicated, I will make our golf director and the F&B department aware of your situation and I know they will do everything possible to learn from it and improve. We are very glad to hear you did enjoy the course, as it is certainly a beauty. Please accept our apology and promise to strive to improve our operation.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Leopard's Chase. We appreciate the feedback and will do everything in our power to address your concerns.
