Just meh
Slow, bumpy greens. Burnt fairways. Bunkers haven’t been raked in awhile. Was the first group out and didn’t not see a single ground keeper all day. Spend your money elsewhere.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Leopard's Chase. You actually played the course right after we aerated the greens and they likely were a little bumpy for a couple of days. We are charging our greatly reduced summer rates to account for these types of typical summer maintenance. We apologize you did not catch us at our best. We hope you will come back soon and give us an opportunity to better provide you with a great golf experience.
Thank you for your patronage of Leopard's Chase. We apologize you had an unsatisfactory experience on this visit. The course was in a transition period between spring and summer and the extreme drought conditions of the last several weeks had slowed the process of the bermuda grass breaking dormancy. The rains we received in the last few days has helped tremendously and everything has greened up quite a bit. We expect the course to be in much better condition than you experienced as we move through the remainder of 2022 and beyond.
The course is in terrible condition
Greens were awful . Spots everywhere. Fairways were hard and in bad shape. We were very disappointed. Architect should be praised. It could be a amazing course if it were taken care of.
Thank you fro taking the time to review your visit to Leopard's Chase. We apologize we were unable to meet your expectations on this visit. The recent drought has caused significant problems for many courses in our area. Fortunately, we did receive some much needed rain in the last few days and this will help immensely. We apologize again and we will do everything we can to improve our operation as we move forward.
Needs Tender Loving Care
Leopards chase clubhouse is absolutely nothing to speak of and shameful for Ocean Ridge !!!!
The front nine holes fairways are terrible tea boxes terrible greens fungus terrible can easily be taken care of by normal maintenance which they are not doing, merely cutting the fairway lawns is not maintaining a Course.
The back nine fairways were in much better shape compared to the front and the greens Rosso well groomed and lush and I would still recommend it to friends !!
I would love to get on board to get this place in shape the way deserves!!!
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Leopard's Chase. We appreciate the recommendation. We are working diligently every day to provide our guests with a fun and enjoyable playing experience. We hope you will visit us again and see our continued progress.
Friendly staff good layout
Greens rolled but they are bent and hadn’t filled in on the edges. But good layout and fairways were good. Friendly staff as well.
Maui Bob
First off at 7 am. Paired with a local golfer. Great layout. Very friendly and informative staff. Greens were a little thin around some of the edges, but very playable. We’ll definitely return.
Thank you very much for the great Five Star review of Leopard's Chase! We truly appreciate it and we hope you will visit us again soon. Be sure to check out the other three Big Cats courses as well!
Great course
Leopards Chase was a challenging course with beauty. This course was challenging with lots of water and sand. Precious is as important as distance. The greens are a little rough but the hole placement was picked to maximize the putting surface most importantly the course was beautiful and fun to play
Thank you for the nice Four Star review of Leopard's Chase. We agree, it is definitely a fun course with beautiful scenery. We hope you will come visit us again soon!
A Good Challenge with numerous & Fair Hazards
Leopard’s Chase is an enjoyable and challenging layout. The greens are true for the most part, but a few have areas that are still coming in. The staff is helpful and friendly and always make one welcome.
Greens
Greens need a lot of work!!! And teed off at 2:08 finished at 615 and the place was a ghost town!! I mean no one there except the cart guy waiting on us to return so he could go home. Didn’t understand that at all!! Loved the layout but really need to work on there greens
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Leopard's Chase. We are working diligently to provide all of our guests with an enjoyable round of golf. We hope you will visit us again soon and see our continued progress.
Thank you for the very nice Four Star review of Leopard's Chase. We truly appreciate the feedback.
Leopards chase “Not”
I ‘m not sure what was worse: course condition, pace of play or “lack” of value. Course should be closed until greens recover and tee boxes and fairways grow in. Worse condition course in MB. No warning from staff that course was in that bad of condition. Don’t play this course!
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Leopard's Chase. We appreciate the feedback and will do everything in our power to address your concerns.
Dry course
Played front 9 holes All the Greens have some form of fungus, fairways dry and spotty.. Course has great potential if cared for. NEEDS TLC AND FAIRWAYS NEED irrigation
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Leopard's Chase. You are correct that conditions have been very dry over the last several weeks, but you are also playing in the transition period from winter rye grass to warm weather bermuda on the fairways and tees. The winter rye has been sprayed out to speed along the transition process, causing the course to be off color for a week or so but it will hen begin to quickly green up again as we move into the warmer season. We hope you will visit us again to see our continued progress.
beach course
if you like sand traps this will be heaven for you. only problem is getting out of them is going to take a different tech. they are hard and has no sand in places. I was in at least 25 traps for the round and I have never had that much trouble getting out of them This is a beautiful golf course. waterfalls on 18 was very cool. but this is for experienced golfer. Maybe even a pro. I have played my whole life and it kicked my rearend. so enjoy and do not throw clubs into the many water ways.
Thank you for the nice Five Star review of Leopard's Chase! We truly appreciate you patronage. Be sure to visit the other Three Big Cats courses as well! Thanks again.
Avoid at all cost
This course is terrible, terrible, terrible. AVOID at all cost. Greens have burnt patches, bunkers are hard as a rock, tee boxes are brown and with crabgrass. Locals don't even play here. Waste of money.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Leopard's Chase. We sincerely apologize we were unable to meet your expectations on your recent visit. Some of the greens are definitely still recovering from some previous issues, but they are much improved and getting better daily. As you can see here on Golf Advisor, four of the last six reviews have been Five Stars and the other was a three star review. Hopefully you made your concerns known to the folks in our pro shop as they will always work with any of our guests to make sure you are satisfied with your golfing experience at any of The Big Cats courses. If that is not the case, please contact me at blong@oceanridge.com and I would love the opportunity to work with you to find a resolution to your concerns. Thank you and again, we apologize we fell short of your expectations, but we would love the opportunity to make it up to you.
Conflicted
I am always conflicted on the Ocean Ridge/Big Cats courses.
These are championship level courses. But the greens are in real bad shape. Like bare spt bad. They say its winter rot, its not. Its bad and they don't even look like they are trying to fix it. That's what bothers me. Seed, cover with a tarp, work on it.
The tee boxes were better this time I will say that. The fairways were green but they had a lot of weeds.
Great course, great staff
I went out as a solo on 4/13/2022 and had a fantastic time. The guys in the clubhouse and the cart attendant were super friendly and helpful. This is my favorite of the "Big Cat" course. The 18th hole is awesome.
Thank you very much for the great Five Star review of Leopard's Chase! We agree, it is an amazing layout and the condition of the few weak spots that had lingered on some of the greens has improved dramatically in recent weeks, with the warmer weather. We are excited to see this amazing course in great condition for our guests as we move forward through 2022 and beyond.
Decent - but there are better options in April
The course was decent, but the greens haven’t grown in just yet. The greens were not in great shape. I cannot recommend this course in April because there are better options (Tiger’s Eye) for the same price.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Leopard's Chase. We appreciate the feedback. The heat sensitive bentgrass greens did take a hit last fall, leaving several weak spots on the perimeter of a few greens. Fortunately they are improving daily and actually have improved dramatically in the past couple of weeks alone. The few remaining weak spots will be completely covered very soon. We hope you will come check out our continued improvement.
Thanks for the awesome Five Star Review of Leopard's Chase! We really appreciate it. Be sure to check out the other three Big Cats courses as well.
