Greens need work
Beautiful course great layout but, greens were awful. I would be disappointed if I paid more than $48.00
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit. We want you to know we are currently taking extensive measures to make sure these premium bentgrass greens are back in excellent condition very soon. Great strides have been made in the last couple of weeks and the results already show as we are getting a tremendous amount of compliments from our most recent guests as they have noted the vast improvement. We expect Leopard's Chase to be in superior condition for the upcoming spring golf season! We hope you will visit again soon to monitor our continued progress! Thanks again.
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Leopard's Chase! We hope you will come visit us again very soon!
Great course
We got a great deal on golf now. The course lacks the attention it should get on maintenance. But the layout was well worth it. And somehow we lucked out on a day nobody wanted to golf. Had the place to ourselves
Thank you for the review! Leopard's Chase is definitely an amazing layout. I has proved quite a challenge this year in keeping a willing labor force and also in getting the supplies and basic materials we need, but fortuntately those issues have improved dramatically in recent weeks and course conditions are also improving daily. We expect Leopard's to be in excellent condition for our spring golf season!
Great layout!
I was a bit apprehensive about playing because of a few bad reviews. It was awesome!! Plenty of hazards to make you think of your next shot. Yes there’s a couple of greens that the staff is working on to get them back to true greens but over all the course was excellent. We actually played two rounds back to back.
Love/hate relationship
Course layout is spectacular but clearly they are letting the course go downhill. Greens were in very bad shape and a lot of crabgrass throughout. I think it was over priced for the condition.
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Leopard's Chase. We apologize that we were not able to live up to your expectations on this visit. The late summer heat took a great toll on the sensitive bentgrass greens at Leopard's and we have been trying to work with our guests any way necessary to make sure they are satisfied with their overall experience, if conditions did not meet their expectations at this time. Hopefully your group was offered some type of compensation as well. If not, please reach out to me (ask for Bill Long) and I will work with you anyway needed to make up for your unsatisfactory experience. The good news is the cooler temps recently have greatly helped the greens and this trend will continue through the remainder of this year and beyond. We have made some significant changes to our plan for Leopard's Chase next year and we are excited at the improvements we expect to see in this course. We hope you will return again soon and see for yourself! Thanks again for your past patronage add we hope to see you again soon.
Course was terrible
I played 2 of the 4 Ocean Ridge courses this weekend. After playing the first course (Lions Paw) for $70 I thought there was no way the other course could be worse then this goat track, I was wrong. I then played the free range chicken farm also know as (Leopards Chase) for $85. I will never play any of these courses again. The management took advantage of our group of 12 guys for the last time. Do not schedule your golf trip here. Go somewhere else. They advertise well and have a lot of billboards but can’t grow grass. If they do grow it they don’t cut it. The sand traps are full of water and haven’t been raked In weeks. We had a temporary green on one hole and didn’t know until we hit our approaches. They never told us about that when we checked in. I think that they should have made us aware of of that when we checked in. The only thing I rated high was pace of play. This was because no one else wants to waste $85 for playing such a dilapidated course. I hope you all read this and decide to play somewhere else. If Ocean Ridge Plantation continues to on this track they won’t be around in 2 years.
We deeply apologize for the unsatisfactory conditions you experienced on your recent visit and certainly apologize that you were not informed of the one temporary green we are utilizing for a short period. That is unacceptable and we will address that immediately with our front end staff.. We definitely had a rough stretch over the end of summer and early fall period and Leopard's Chase, with their heat sensitive bentgrass greens, was probably hardest hit at that time. Fortunately the cooler weather in recent weeks has helped tremendously and the greens are improving rapidly. There are currently 2 greens at Leopard's that are running behind the others, but we are taking more drastic measures to bring those up to speed as well. They should all be in much better condition very soon. We have been trying to work with any guests who had any issues during their round and hopefully that was the case with your group. If not, I apologize for that as well and ask that you reach back out to us (ask for Bill Long) and we will work with you any way needed to make up for your unsatisfactory experience. Again, we apologize we fell so far short of your expectations this time, but we hope you will give us another opportunity in the future to show our progress and improvement.
Great Course! Greens in rough shape.
Great layout, tees and fairways in good shape. Greens were soft and slow.
Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent visit to Leopard's Chase. It is certainly a spectacular layout at that! We definitely agree the greens could be better than during your visit. In fact, the last couple of months were a particularly difficult period for the sensitive bentgass on those greens. But fortunately the cooler conditions of the last couple of weeks have help greatly and they are improving daily. We hope you will come again and see the improvements and progress we are making at this course (and all The Big Cats courses)
Big Cats
Leopard's Chase has a great layout and the staff was great! Even though the greens had just been plugged and were in rough shape we enjoyed the course overall
Thank you very much for your review of your recent visit. We apologize you caught the greens at a time they had been aerated. This is a necessary practice that has to be performed regularly to help the roots grow and expand so the grass can make it through difficult weather periods. The greens at Leopard's took a beating from the brutal hot and wet conditions of late summer, so these practices are even more vital to their improvement this fall. We hope you will come again sometime soon and see our progress. Typically we know in advance roughly when these procedures will be performed, so please feel free to inquire about upcoming maintenance procedures when booking your tee time. We will give you the best available information at that time to help you make you decision about playing. Thanks again for your patronage and we hope to see you again soon.
Love eighteen, waterfall is picturesque.
They had just aerated the greens, some were a bit rough. Overall great day.
Horrific Greens
Staff were great, Course layout is imaginative, unfortunately, the greens are atrocious. Chocked full of poa Anna and bare spots. Probably don’t need bent grass greens in this hot, humid climate.
Do not play, unless it is free!
Greens were horrible! Fairways burned up, traps were so so. Like other reviewers, which we did not heed, this course has gone way down hill. It used to be fabulous, but they are not spending any money there. Staff mentioned the greens may come back in a month or so, but I doubt it. The greens were full of weeds or burnt to bare dirt.
Spend your golf dollars elsewhere.
Love this course, but they have let it go
Great layout and was in great condition last year, but the course conditions are horrible now.
Disappointed
Greens were awful. They lost them due to heat and not being Bermuda. Fairways need mowing. Great layout but I would definitely call before going out. Positives were very friendly staff and they were up front about conditions.
Needs TLC
Fantastic layout that is being let go. Really hope that they upgrade the greens to Bermuda and start maintaining the course better. With some TLC, Leopards Chase would be every bit as good as Thistle. $31 Hot Deal was worth it. Wouldn’t pay full price right now.
Thank you for the awesome 5 Star review! We really appreciate it. Be sure to check out all four Big Cats courses when you get a chance,as they are all looking great Thanks again.
